Mr. and Mrs. Waller were simply staring in shock at Becca as she ate the dinner plate they had given her. It looked like she hadn't ate in ages.

Rash shook his head. "I've never seen a farmhand do so much work in so little time!"

Becca looked up at him with gravy on her chin. "Please don't make me go back."

Wells shook her head. "Honey, you'd be willing to give up your own farm to live in the farmhand quarters with a bunch of smelly men?"

"I smell bad." Becca looked back at her food. "They'd be the ones complaining about me."

Rash took a deep breath. "We have a daughter who wants to move out on her own. But... It's all politics. With quotas and all of that, they don't want to put a little girl in charge of all that..." He shook his head, "they gave you all that thinking it would make you ecstatic, but it wasn't the right fit."

"No." Becca laughed. "It was not the right fit. I can talk to the people in The Ark. Tell them to make it so that I can sign over my land and quotas to your kid. She can even not skim to prove how much better it is for someone who likes farming to do the actual farming."

"Dear, you're doing a lot!" Wells gasped as she said it. 

"Cutting firewood isn't very much farming." Becca rolled her eyes. "It's so much better. I would cut firewood every day for the rest of my life if it meant that I didn't have to be the one in charge of figuring out if I need to call the vet for a cow."

"I'm a little worried the other farmhands will harass you..." Wells looked away.

"I've never lived with guys." Becca shrugged. "Jocks basically told me, not a single person here will put their hands on me. I trust that. Besides, if anything, they're afraid of me."

Wells and Rash exchanged glances. Rash cleared his throat. "I'm just saying that if you are uncomfortable, you're the best worker we've ever seen. When Pelt moves out, you could take her room."

Becca laughed. "I appreciate it, but please don't worry. I'm going to be fine. I've already looked at the place I'd be sleeping and it's totally fine. I'm happy with it!"

She went back to eating, but then she realized something. She nervously looked up at them. "If you are wanting to treat me special... Can I come to family dinners? Eat this real good food regularly?"

Both Wells and Rash laughed. "Honey! We feed the farmhands the same things we eat! But if you're missing your parents back home..." Wells was smiling sweetly, "we would be more than happy to step in and be your Ag Parents for as long as you need."

Becca couldn't help it. She started crying while smiling. "If you knew what it was like in the colonies... You'd get why that's so special."
