Forgotten Friday #339 - 野々原くろと / Nonohara Kuroto

Kuroto is a fox guy who can choose between being a fox and being a human. He wants to become friends with humans but he is too shy.

Maria wanted to be "the house". She wanted every single high school student to look at her and say "wow, I wish she was my mom!"

But stranger danger was ruining that for her. 

She wasn't accosting children and kidnapping them, of course! But no one wanted their children going to someone else's house. 

Even when her children brought friends home, it still ruined her dreams. She would make a lovely batch of cookies and offer them to everyone. She got so many disgusted glances. They were rude. They didn't even wait for her to be out the door before they called her creepy for offering them food. The words "what kind of weirdo adult tries to give children food?"

They were sophomores in high school! Maria couldn't get over it. It wasn't them calling her creepy that really got to her. It was the strangeness of it. She was out (incorrectly) calling herself an adult as soon as she started high school. Yeah, she was wrong, but still!

Her daughter tried to cheer her up. Maria heard her daughter telling them that the cookies were fine and it wasn't okay to insult her mother. Still, no one touched the cookies.

"Hey..." Her son sat down next to her at the kitchen island. "You okay?"

The cookie incident was months ago, but little things kept happening. She looked up at Josh. "It's just a bummer..." She shook her head. "Are you still doing that sleep over on Friday?"

Josh was still a freshman. "Uh so..."

"Let me guess?" Maria rolled her eyes. "Jimothy has a seven PM bed time! Tamantha has contact dermititis. No one can perceive Talbot without signing a waiver!"

Josh was shocked. "You got some details wrong, but yeah. It's not happening."

"I wanted to live through you kids!" Maria groaned. "I thought, hey, I was that shut in that never got invited anywhere! But my kids? They're going to do the inviting. They're not going to go through what I did... And then bam! Kids aren't leaving you out, they're just not leaving their houses!"

Josh shrugged. "They're lame anyway. They're not just not leaving their houses - they don't even leave their rooms. I bring up how I play around in the back yard and they get into a fit over how dangerous it is!" He shook his head. "Did you have a time machine or something? Why do you suck way less than all of their parents?"

Maria was holding back tears. "You... Really mean it?"

"Gosh!" Josh rolled his eyes. "Ew! No crying." He laughed and gave her a side hug. "Yeah. They're so sad and scared and I would hate to be afraid to even play in the back yard. Can you imagine?!"

Maria patted at her eyes with her sleeve. "I'm glad I'm not the one who's wrong. They're all the ones who are wrong." She nodded. "Well. Good talk. Let me know if anyone stops being scared."

How Are Nonohara Kuroto's banks?

Kuroto has five banks. 

First is the standard CV. It has three pitches. His voice is nice and nostalgic!

Standard VCV also has three pitches. He sounds really nice!

The next bank is the fox VCV. It only has one pitch. Look how sweet and adorable this voice is!!

Next Is fallen leaves. It is a five pitch CV bank! This Feels like a mix between the fox append and the normal banks.

The Final bank is another five pitch CV bank.  It is called kusamochi. I had to look that up. It's mochi with mugwort. The voice is nice!
