Who is Utase Uka? I really am giving up on this SEO thing, as I don't think it works. Who made Keika Eo?

Forgotten Friday #26 - 唄世ウカ・恵禾エオ / Utase Uka + Keika Eo

Again, I'm double booking Forgotten Friday. Last week was pretty bad and these two share a NicoNicoPedia page. 

Amazingly, their voice provider is still active to this day! I didn't do any deep dives, so I only downloaded the banks listed on the NicoNicoPedia. 

Anyway, since there are three banks split across two UTAUs, I will change the format a bit, starting with the one who was actually listed on Ruto.yu.to.

Who is Utase Uka?

Utase Uka is around twelve years old and I'm not even going to try and figure out what "どうやらきつねうどん疑惑" means. ("It seems like suspicion of udon with fried tofu"??)

The blog post mentioned in her ReadMe has done 404'd, so the only place I'd know to find information is the Nicopedia page, and, well, I don't get it.

The only thing I can say for sure about this kid is that her only bank linked to on the Nicopedia entry was recorded in separate sittings, some in late 2009, and some in early 2010. The majority of the samples are from 2009, with the samples from 2010 being extras, such as the breath files.

The OTOs aren't great, but they're basically the standard style for early 2010. Her voice is breathy and adorable, but the static does get in the way of fully enjoying her at points.

Who is Keika Eo?

Keika Eo is another UTAU by ムーンリール (Moonreel?) The original Keika Eo bank was recorded in November of 2009, whereas the updated "Rentan" (stringed CV) bank was recorded in April of 2010, when the updated samples for Utase Uka were recorded.

Her most salient character trait is that she doesn't particularly dislike anything. 

And Wow I love this UTAU! The first bank, the CV, is a little muffled, but still has a nice tone. The rentan, though? It is clear and beautiful and has one of my favorite voice types. To save space, the following sample plays a sample of the CV, and then a sample of the Rentan bank.

Where can I download these banks?

All download links are on the NicoNicoPedia page. I sent Moonreel (?) a tweet telling her I love Keika Eo's voice. There may be more banks in the future for Keika Eo if I play my cards right! (Or not, Keika Eo's last voicebank was recorded almost a decade ago!)

Both of these UTAUs are great for the old, nostalgic 2009 sound, but Eo's Rentan bank can compete with modern day UTAUs as far as clarity and tone go.

Hopefully these UTAUs will get more love, because they really deserve it.
