Forgotten Friday #66 - 少しここ / Sukoshi Coco

I'm so out of it. I have recorded a few videos since last writing for this blog, because well, I guess me spacing out in video form is quirky, but spacing out in written form is more concerning. The last few articles have featured me randomly spacing out and continuing to write, but I'm hoping that after my small hiatus, I can keep that to a minimum. 

Forgotten Friday #66 - 少しここ / Sukoshi Coco

How is this possible?! If you're just now returning after leaving in 2012, Rev is basically one of  the most influential UTAU users of this era. He made Spongebob UTAUs and has really good art, and has a ton of followers. (When I looked him up to get an accurate count, I found out he was featured on a tumblr about toxic famous people. That's how you know you made it.)

Okay, I have to just pause to say that the Wiki page about how awful he was only said that he disliked a specific Pokemon. I was worried there would be damaging information, but nope! Pokemon drama!

Anyway, back to the first sentence. This UTAU would just be your typical Forgotten Friday UTAU if it weren't for the fact that the voice provider of this UTAU collab'd with Rev to make Coco's current bank. Rev drew art for her and configured her bank, and... Not a single video on YouTube in like seven years. No videos with the new design. Unless you look at the Wiki page, there's not even a hint of this revision even existing. 

So how does this happen? The new bank has been downloaded twenty times. I even used site search to see how many times Rev brought her up on his main (this was before he made an UTAU only account) and he only brought her up twice. This is all like, huh? What? Why did this thing happen and then everyone forget about it?

Wiki Wednesday #55 - 音多キリ / Kiri Neta

This name makes me think of a nursery rhyme from France. "Alouette". Now, what confuses me is that the word is pronounced without the final "e", but in the song, even in the nursery rhyme on Youtube (don't worry, I used incognito mode to not jack up my recommendations), the first verse is pronounced "All-u-eh-TUH". They say it correctly in one of the participation sections. I thought being American as heck is what made me add that "TUH". Anyway, it's about plucking feathers from a bird.

Don't fully trust Google Translate. Why? Well, Google Translate made this UTAU trans. "いたいけな少女" means young and sweet girl. Google Translate will tell you that's what it means... After you remove the "Gender:" part that is included in list based biographies. Before you remove that, it's "I want a girl". If the gender is "I want a girl", then the UTAU is probably AMAB MtF. But, no. Kiri is a young and sweet girl.

Forgotten Friday #65 - 機械音ばんし / Kikaioto Bansi

Okay, I really need to pick an UTAU that has information on it. Because like, I'm sure people are sick of hearing about what's going on in my life. But, like, this is Forgotten Friday. So many of these banks just got thrown onto the internet with no second thought... What makes it worse is that when I started my spreadsheet, I didn't download all of the banks as I was recording their names. So most of the list, I need to use data to download the banks! So, I'm stuck with what I did download earlier

Forgotten Friday #65 - 機械音ばんし / Kikaioto Bansi

So, the only proof this bank exists outside of the videos linked on the NicoPedia is a forum post from Smeen. (And a VOCALOID database entry that was made in 2016 and updated Thein 2018??) I'm confusing Smeen with someone else, but Smeen is gone. I don't know about the person who I am confusing with Smeen... 

I'm not sure if CarmenTA, Bansi's voice provider, even exists as implied. First, the bank is romaji encoded and there's no Japanese in the readme or character. I mean, this is a whole thing. Smeen had a copy of Bansi, which has a troll design. Smeen seems to have been aligned with some troll users. But even then, CarmenTA has other UTAUs. But I don't know. I give up. I'm playing the rest of this article straight and pretending that CarmenTA (who can't keep the spelling of their name consistent) is absolutely a real person from Japan and everything is normal.

So, I accidentally downloaded over two gigabytes of UTAUs when I told myself I definitely wouldn't, as if my computer went kaput, they wouldn't be backed up. Well, I'm bad at following directions when I'm not in the best mental state. So, I downloaded every UtaoOngen bank. I was going to download their other series, but there were like a hundred banks per UTAU, and they all sounded the same. So, I stopped at their main line.

Yay for UTAU Visual Archive! I used them to make double sure Run only had one voicebank and I wasn't missing anything. I absolutely love Run's design. It is so cool, and the art style is really cool. Really, everything is just super cool.

So, let me start by saying that everyone involved went missing. The video is still up, I believe, but the voice provider's blog was last updated in 2011, and the distributor's blog was deleted. So, that inspires confidence.

When everyone involved is missing, it's a sign that the bank didn't have the most planning or love put into it. So me saying that something inspired confidence was actually sarcasm. But I still really like the design, so who knows.

So, I accidentally took a break of a few days. The mania subsided and the depression crept in. I was doing fine until I accidentally went an appropriate amount of time between meals. Then I got a hunger headache that wouldn't go away even after eating too much food. Forgotten Friday #63 - 貝音ロハ / Kaine Roha

I live in Central Standard Time, but the blog is set to Pacific Standard Time. So, when I started this article, it scheduled itself for around 3 PM. I looked out the window and it was pretty dark for 3 PM. So I looked down at my computer's clock and it's 5 PM. Never mind the fact that it was around 2 PM when I started work today. I actually had thought only an hour had passed when it was actually... several. Don't ask me to math today, please.

if the video desciption is permanently taken down completely, the getuploader is kaine.  

Yay for file names that betray the reading! Google Translate says Shellfish Sound should be Kaion. But 244, the person who uploaded this stuff, says that it is Kaine. 

The only information I could find on Roha is that his name has shellfish in it on a list of UTAUs that are related to foods in some way. I mean, I saw that on my own... But I guess? I checked the video, and that had been deleted.

Imagine if YouTube treated deleted videos the way NicoVideo did. Instead of just a big image saying video gone, someone plays recorder while someone reads off a "sorry video gone" speech. I remember years ago, not understanding what was up. Were there different versions of that speech? I remember getting hit with Foosan telling me I couldn't watch the video, just to be able to see it after like ten refreshes. But, I believe that this one was deleted, so no amount of refreshes would bring it back.

Wiki Wednesday #52 - 永月ひかげ / Hikage Nagatsuki

When my Japanese is as bad as it is, I can't really look down on anyone for weird translations. "She fluently fluent with my back feathers. Storage possible" makes no sense. But, a lot of descriptions don't. Some of that was missing in the Wiki's translation, but it basically meant that she flies really well with her wings, though they do not sprout directly from her back. In storage (?), her tattoo glows.  

Wiki Wednesday #52 - 永月ひかげ / Hikage Nagatsuki

Whoo! This UTAU has five banks, but I wrote the title before that dawned on me. Whoops! I'm probably going to take a coffee break halfway through writing this to keep my energy up. This is the third article I've done in this binge.

As a note, I'm too out of it to check, but there are 52 weeks in a year. That may mean this is the... what's an anniversary that doesn't fall on the same day? It's been a year of articles! Or it will be next week. Who even knows in this mad world?
