Forgotten Friday #315 - くまの仔ちゃん / Kuma no Kochan

I swore, I had covered this UTAU before. The design felt really familiar. But I searched my blog and there was not even a Kuma in sight! I even searched my clips for blog folder for Kuma. Nothing!

Kuma is a female pink bear. I ran her readme through Google translate and thought there must have been a mistranslation. Why would she eat tissues?? The next line said that she likes to eat things that aren't food. Oh, okay! That makes sense.

Suzette hummed as the pins dangled dangerously from the side of her mouth. She had to get a step ladder to drape the fabric onto Paul.

As a test, she had just pinned the pink and yellow fabric onto him as some kind of toga. As she pulled away, the magic started to affect the fabric. 

Paul looked into the mirror. There was a strange black smoke surrounding the fabric. 

Suzette pulled the pins from her mouth and sighed. "Maybe the problem was going pastel. Maybe neon pink would read well."

He paused to consider that. 

"But we should use this fabric to figure out a pattern!" Suzette climbed down from the ladder. "It's a shame you're so used to tailored suits. That's outside of my skill level."

Paul looked back at Suzette. He laughed. "Actually, Suzie-sue, I think this is good enough!"

"Really!" Suzette gasped. "You look a bit silly!"

"Yes, I do!" He spun around. "Who would think that Mr. Slendy Bendy would wear a dress? Maybe they'd call me Smoky Easter Lady."

"Maybe!" Suzette laughed softly. "That would be nice. Imagine if you had been wearing pink when we met!"

He looked happy.

"I'll let the rumor mill started for ya, Paul." She paused. She remembered her last Halloween costume. She ducked into her office and came out with a bright pink wig with tinsel woven throughout. She held it up for Paul. "The Smoky Easter Lady should have nice hair, right?"

Paul put on the wig. He nodded. "Do you think I look scary? Or offensive?"

"Of course not!" Suzette shook her head. "It's okay to be a drag queen if you want to be, Paul."

He practically glowed. "Do you think this could work? People could accept me like this?"

Suzette sighed. "Paul, I want to be honest with you. I can't give you an answer because you were never scary to me. How do I know what is scary to anyone else?" An idea came to her. "Why don't you hang out here in the morning? I can introduce you as the Smoky Easter Lady and you can just hang out and see what happens!"

"You're willing to take that gamble?!" Paul was genuinely excited.

"Of course!" Suzette smiled brightly. 

What would you do if you met the Smoky Easter Lady? Would you be scared and run away? Would the silly wig and pastel clothes make you give them a chance?

Dear Lord it has been so long since I've tried to write fiction and I am struggling so hard. I spent half of writing this wondering if "Slenderman (who has no magical abilities and is nice) does drag so that people can get to know him for who he really is and aren't scared" is problematic. He's just a nice guy trying to put on silly clothes so that people don't judge him.

But hey, writing and failing is better than thinking about writing and never doing it because you think you'll fail... Right?
