 my first day processing these 2025 forgotten Friday articles and I've knocked out two months! If I keep this pace, I could be done by Christmas.

Forgotten Friday #322 - 黒歌ガク / Kurouta Gaku

Gaku is a sixteen year old girl who loves gaming. Her website is up and all of her links work!

"Any word on the bunker people?" Megan leaned against the wall instead of sitting down. Her little house was just one room.

"Well..." Samson looked almost ashamed. "You were right. It looks like communication was sabotaged."

"Which makes no sense." Megan looked away. "I get sea animals not being affected. I get those destroying cables. But shouldn't all of the radio antennas and satellite dishes above ground be fine?"

"We cross referenced your maps with the satellites we put up there..." Lisa seemed to be very sad about people she had never met. "The closest bunker... The entrance got covered in lava."

The news made something in Megan's brain skip a beat. She dropped her sour attitude. "Are... How... Is it possible they survived?"

"It depends." Samson tried to be reassuring. "We don't have the full weight of the Union behind us, you know. We can only go on the redacted plans that you were able to give us. If the lava was cool and slow enough and the air purification system was good enough, they're okay but trapped."

"We don't know much about the geology of this planet." Lisa added softly. "But... Given what happens on my planet..." She gave up being tactful. "If that happened on my planet, everyone in the bunker would be cooked from the heat of the lava overhead."

"The submarine base?" Megan crossed her arms so that she could tap her fingers on her arms. "Any word on them?"

"It's just us and our satellites. We have no way of knowing what's going on down there." Samson shook his head. "I wish there was more we could do. If we could just get a little vessel, I bet we could run some cables..."

"And absolutely no word from the mainland?" Megan sighed.

"I'm giving up on formalities." Lisa shook her head. "You are the only sapient being we have seen on this planet. How?"

"Really?" Megan was amused. "It's not that interesting. I have a mutation. Not sure what it is. I could comfortably live up here as long as I surrounded myself with flowers. I don't really like being around people, so I was fine being alone up here." She shrugged. "Everyone else stayed in the bunker where the air was easier to breathe." She sighed. "You know, you guys seem to be just fine."

"Well..." Lisa took a deep breath. "We've run analysis using the satellites. Even in the places that were hardest hit... The air levels are becoming livable. Whatever the chemical did, it's undoing with time."

Megan froze and stared blankly at the aliens. "What does that mean?"

"I guess..." Samson chose his words carefully. "I guess it depends on how many people survived in the bunkers."

Megan shook her head before grabbing a chair and sitting down at the table. "What exactly does that mean? Why would the number of survivors matter?"

Lisa and Samson were instantly uncomfortable. But they had no choice but to tell the truth. 

How Are Kurouta Gaku's banks?

Gaku has three banks. One is a one pitch CV. One is a four pitch VCV. Then there's 激おこver.1.00. This seems to be a shortening of the phrase "激おこぷんぷん丸" which is a girly way of saying a state of extreme rage. The Gekioko append is also a four pitch VCV. 

Let's get the CV out of the way first. Her voice is nice, but short consonants mean there isn't as much to crossfade, meaning it can feel a little choppy.

Next we'll look at the VCV. Her voice is so pretty and expressive!

Next is the Gekioko bank. I definitely adore this UTAU.
