"Guys!" Paul cried out as he bounded towards his friends. "I had the most amazing food!"

His friends all awkwardly smiled. Paul was not great at lying. His entire personality was a bold faced lie, but they pretended they didn't know. 

"It was McDonald's!" Paul was full of giddy. "It was amazing."

"Haha, yeah Paul." Ricky laughed as he clapped Paul's shoulder. "What was food like growing up?"

Paul shook his head. "Nothing but reconstituted carbo mash and protein sticks. No taste, barely warm. But this stuff?!" He gasped. "Did you know... They use salt?! I always asked you guys, where's the sodium tabs and you guys never knew. You didn't know because the food here has salt!"

"Yeah." Mary nodded. "You spent your entire childhood on that ship."

Lina elbowed Mary. Mary was the instigator who made Paul let out little details that outed himself. Lina believed that it was fully necessary that they didn't actually imply his cover was broken.

"Crossing the Pacific, you know." Paul nodded. His cover story was that he was born in a Slavic country and came to New England. But he still always forgot geography. He still always said he spent his entire childhood crossing the Pacific Ocean.

"Must have been rough." Lina smiled. "You never come out to dinner with us. We could get you some food even better than McDonald's."

"I go to Sonic for the ice cream." Ricky laughed. 

"You haven't had ice cream yet!" Mary laughed. "There's so much that you haven't let us show you!"

Paul looked a little embarrassed. "Well... I've run out of carbo mash and I can't figure out what to replace the gourd with."

"Oh!" Lina laughed. "We're dragging you to my house and teaching to how to cook!"

"I know we can't take you to the hospital if you get food poisoning." Mary shrugged. "But I'll bring bananas, apple sauce, bread, and plenty of Gatorade."

"Wow!" Paul was so excited he was squirming. "You all really will take the time to teach me how to make human food?"

Lina elbowed Mary before she could open her mouth. "All of the food you could ever want to eat!" She paused. "After you learn how to master frozen pizzas. Friday night pizza party everyone? I'll get the pizzas."

"Heck yeah!" Ricky laughed. "I'll handle the sodas and Mary will make her world famous cinnamon rolls?"

Mary playfully rolled her eyes. "Yes, I will put cinnamon and butter on Pillsbury biscuits for all of you!"

"Wow." Paul's eyes were wide. "I never had friends on the ship. How could I be so lucky to find all of you wonderful, sweet, kind people?"

"We gotta make up for lost time, Paul." Ricky smiled. "All that time alone? You're strong for making it through it. We're so impressed by your strength and we want to be around you to hope it rubs off on us!"

"And I bet you're going to make some yummy food along the way!" Lina laughed.
