Axfc is a jerk. Here's my post on how to get downloads from there to work.

Multi-pitch CVVC banks do not work properly with the shareware A for automatic button!! Any articles where I complain about CVVC banks being broken is my own fault for not figuring it out sooner!!

Forgotten Friday #12 - 転鳴エルヴィ / Corona Elvy

Who is Corona Elvy? How can I download 転鳴エルヴィ? Are you sure it's not Korona Eruvi?

Forgotten Friday #12 - 転鳴エルヴィ / Corona Elvy

note: the name is often romanized as LV, but the nicopedia has it listed as Elvy. I'm sticking with the one that is more "name like".

Sometimes, I want to say something and I know it will be controversial. I know better, but I do it anyway.

I like to imagine that Elvy's creator, Piropino, is a lot like what would happen if Chris-chan was left alone to have fun doing silly things. Elvy has four genderbends, and all of their art is very stylized in a way that isn't very popular.

Piropino himself loves video games to the point that his description on his blog is taken up mostly by his favorite Pokemon and video game characters. (Yoshi and Luigi, by the way.)

Who is Corona Elvy?

Elvy, two variations of Euipie, two variations of Little Eupie, Walubi, and Ai

Corona Elvy and his genderbends have pretty detailed profiles, which you can view here, all the way down to their first person pronouns. (Note for people who may be confused - Japan does have gendered third person pronouns. Some people say they don't, but they do in 彼 and 彼女. The reason people assume there are none is just because you rarely use them due to how loosey goosey Japanese is with things like basic sentence structure. This isn't about those, though.) Listing the first person pronouns, such as 俺 and 私 is a quick way to explain a whole lot about the character in very few words.

That being said, despite all the details, I still have no idea what is going on. I think their weights are based off of the weights of Pokemon.

Corona Elvy is the default character. He uses the "boku" pronoun and claims to be sixteen years old. For some reason, I assumed the name was an homage to Elvis. Nope! It means "Level".

Corona Eupie's gender is not woman, but ♀. I'm not sure what that means, but it's what the site says. She uses either "watashi" or "boku", meaning she's a bit of a tomboy. To use her, you use the flag "g-20". "Eupie" is meant to mean "Up".

Little Eupie's real name isn't Corona Little Eupie, but instead "朝顔 昇子". Like regular Eupie, she uses "boku" or "watashi". She is elementary school aged and hates eggplant. To use her, you use the flag "g-30".

Corona Walubi is the evil version of Elby. I don't think there's an actual difference in usage between Walubi and Elvy. He uses "ore" or "oresama" as pronouns, which means that Walubi thinks himself very manly and important. He eats between meals, also.

Corona Ai is Elvy's little sister. To use her, you only use the ↑ samples. Her real name is Aira Viera. She uses "watashi", which is pretty standard. She is an eternal being who claims the age of fourteen years old.

How are the banks?

Due to some file hosting tomfoolery, I didn't grab any banks that weren't Ver2.10, and I couldn't get the Steel append.

These banks are unique. They all have characteristics that are generally avoided in most banks. Let me start, out of order, with the strangest bank of them all, Nothing / HisoHiso.

This is the angriest whisper bank I have ever heard. I thought the "し" was just poorly OTO'd, but nope.
While the OTO isn't correct, there's no "i". You can never OTO it correctly! Luckily, there is a "すぃ" which you can use in place of "shi" if you are ever so inclined to.

If you wanted a whisper bank, but weren't happy with HisoHiso, you are in luck! The Water append is a nice whispery bank. There's a bit of noise, but that's kind of a given in a Whisper bank.

If you want less noise, but you still want that soft tone, Thunder is for you. Thunder is a one pitch, but all of the samples have the ↑ arrow, meaning they are meant to be the high pitch. Because there is no other pitches, using this bank technically means that you are using Ai and not Elvy.
The next bank, Fire, has three pitches. While the lows are very deep, the higher pitches still have a soft tone to them.

The final bank is Grass. Grass is one of the most forceful of Elvy's banks. It is three pitches, which makes it one of the most fun banks of Elvy's to use.

I have no idea why the names for the appends were chosen. Grass is more forceful than fire? Oh well!

How can I download Corona Elvy?

To download Corona Elvy, click here. All of the download links are in the table that looks like this:
Elvy will be a little difficult to get the full potential out of him, but there is quite a bit of potential! I scoured the internet for obscure UTAUs for years, but I had never known about Elvy until researching for this series. I hope that someone hears him here and falls in love 😃
