Axfc is a jerk. Here's my post on how to get downloads from there to work.

Multi-pitch CVVC banks do not work properly with the shareware A for automatic button!! Any articles where I complain about CVVC banks being broken is my own fault for not figuring it out sooner!!

Forgotten Friday #150 - honoca_2's 空架-kuuka-

Whoo! I think I might actually be able to reach my completely arbitrary and meaningless goal!

Forgotten Friday #150 - honoca_2's 空架-kuuka-

On one hoof, I’m really glad that the family I just wrapped up got wrapped up. On the other hoof, this UTAU has no bio data beyond the fact that she sounds like a woman, but you’re allowed to just give her whatever gender you want. And I picked her.

Apparently, her name means “empty shelf” in Chinese. I pasted it into Google Translate when I meant to paste it into Jisho. If that is the case, why does Google Translate say that her name is “fictitious” when translating the entire page? It can’t even figure it out when I mash the “listen” button on Google Translate. The romanization at the bottom is the correct “Kūka”, but the voice says “soraka”.

And I still have two hooves to consider other possibilities! See why saying on the other hoof is fun and useful? Though, given that I currently posses zero hooves, it is just as realistic to say on the other hand four times.

I just like My Little Pony a lot.

Who is Kuuka?

Art from Visual Archive

She had trouble in school. Her skin always had the strange blue tint, and she never knew why. She got called to the principal’s office for her blue hair too many times to count, but it ended when she literally took a box of black dye to school and proved that the blue color never stayed away for more than a few hours.

She hid under her hoodie. More calls to the principal’s office. The man took pity on her and discussed an IEP specifically allowing her to just lay her head on her desk and cover it up with her comfy hood. As much as he knew school and education were important, he could see the other children bullying her.

Her parents weren’t involved enough to fix the situation. She could transfer to a different school within the district if they’d drive her there. They weren’t interested. They could let her stay home and learn remotely. But, they weren’t interested. Even though she could sit in the corner of her father’s office and do all of her work on paper before uploading it via a scanner, they weren’t interested.

She thought maybe she could go to a doctor and get her blood tested. Maybe they could fix it. Nothing was wrong with her. There was nothing that could be medically fixed. She braced herself with that knowledge and bought the most full coverage makeup she could find. She would paint her face until it was a perfect human color. She would smile into the mirror and sob in joy until the blue of her skin began to dye the pigments suspended in oil on her face. Powders fared better - certain ones could get her an entire night of looking entirely human.

She wanted to drop out at age sixteen, but she pushed forward. She wasn’t especially bright, struggling with more difficult mathematics especially. She consistently got good grades, but her standardized test scores stood in the way of decent financial aid via scholarships. She would get no need based aid because of her father’s corner office and her mother’s investments.

She asked them what they wanted for her. For approval, she would even count beans on the floor of her father’s firm.

They shifted their weight for what felt like too long. Her mother, who rarely even got within three feet of her, put her hand on Kuuka’s shoulder. A deep sigh. “You have a trust fund.”

Kuuka broke. She sobbed violently as she collapsed on the floor.

And that’s an imaginary story based off of the voice and art of the UTAU Kuuka!

How is Kuuka's bank?

Hurray! Kuuka is an easy UTAU to process with only one CV bank with one pitch. Her bank is under six megabytes, because the samples are very, very small. So, I should use a UST with small notes! As a note, there are no FRQ files.

And, well, it's kind of ridiculous how tiny some of the samples are.

Don't worry too much, it still sounds great!

Despite that, it looks as though no consonants are clipped to the point of not working as those specific consonants.

I love her so much. She has the same feeling as the Japanese tom-boys recording androgynous banks in 2009. This is despite this bank apparently being released in 2016?!?!

I love this UTAU.

Where can I download Kuuka?

The link to her distribution video is on her Visual Archive page. She's extremely small and lightweight, and due to that there are issues with some vowels being stretched funny and not fitting in nicely with the rest of the bank. But, if you're not picky, she's basically perfect.
