Forgotten Friday #215 - K:A@幼虫Pのキユ / Kiyu
So, how is the person behind this blog doing? Bad. So, I stepped up. Minha always refuses to help because of her 'job', and Franz actually makes this harder by making her slip in and out of fronting because he doesn't pay attention and learn how to do these things. He tries, but he's old.
Kiyu is a woman in her twenties that loves cool things and what I assume is a censored version of a bottled tea drink. She only likes it unsweetened through. She is docile and gentle apparently.
Who is Kiyu?

Vanessa made it a point to ignore everyone who didn't understand ASL. After being illegally shoved out of enough jobs over her disability, she was fine being a hermit in her childhood bedroom. (Granted, it was a very nice bedroom with a queen sized bed that wasn't shoved against a wall.)
However, her new translator was quickly becoming unhinged and she needed to make sure that didn't happen. Even if Vanessa could speak, Becky seemed to actually understand what was happening. No one else did.
While Becky slept slumped over on the table, Vanessa searched the foyer of the inn to find something to write with and something to write on. By magic, there were ballpoint pens. The anachronism wasn't lost on her.
Finding paper was also surprisingly easy. She gathered herself and sat a few tables away from Becky as to not disturb her. She bit the inside of her lip as she tried to figure out what to write. She went with her first idea. On three sheets of paper, she wrote "The inn requires gold pieces. Obtain gold pieces by defeating gold beasts past the back gate of the city."
She quietly made her way out of the inn and onto the dirt road that connected the three businesses. She looked to her left and right, hoping that she wouldn't have to actually go into any businesses. Sadly, she was alone. Finding Blade in the shop felt more likely than finding Faulkner in the tavern or Jasper in the vague concept of 'around'.
When she pushed her way into the store, she was gobsmacked. She had played the modern incarnations of Oregon Trail with full motion video. This store looked just like the recreations in those games. It didn't fit the medieval theme the castle had implied in the slightest.
Blade was standing in front of the person working the till. He was pointing at each item he didn't recognize and asked what it was. The shopkeeper was unnaturally cheerful. When he asked a question, the shopkeeper smiled and answered as if it were a good question with a barely helpful answer.
("What is that?", "Peppermints, sir!", "What do they do?", "You eat them!", "What do they taste like?", "Peppermints, sir!", "How are they so brightly colored?", "Because they're peppermints, sir!")
Blade was completely unaware that Vanessa was standing next to him until she pulled on his sleeve.
Looking up at him as he looked down at her was somewhat terrifying. She tried to ignore that his sword looked to be longer than she was tall as she held out one of the messages she had written.
He took it and read it. He let out a derisive chuckle. Vanessa assumed he still thought she was deaf, because he simply walked past her without acknowledging her. Vanessa, for the giggles, turned to the shopkeeper and signed, "Any free stuff?"
The shopkeeper laughed. "Little child! Why do you flap your hands? Your parents must be worried! Here, have some candy."
Vanessa was torn for a moment. She, of course, wanted to put the woman in her place… but she was also feeling hungry. She held out her hand and received a few pieces of hard candy. She saved some in her pocket for Becky and popped one into her mouth as she left the shop. It was flavorless hard candy, but sugar is always nice regardless.
How are Kiyu's banks?
She keeps trying to front, which is a tad annoying. 'Emily, I want her to sound the best!' No - I'm fronting, and we're going to use the old USTs.
Kiyu has a VCV bank and a CVVC bank.
The VCV is fine. There's nothing wrong with it, and the voice matches the description of being docile. It is a deeper voice, though still being feminine. It is motherly, though a bit muffled.
Next is CVVC, which is called Manly. It has two pitches: G4 and A#4. It's not Manly, but it does sound a bit like a woman voice acting a young boy. The OTO file isn't the best, but the voice is nice enough. It is not motherly in the way that the VCV is as it is much more youthful.
Where can I download Kiyu?
The download links are on her official site. She is a nice UTAU.
