Axfc is a jerk. Here's my post on how to get downloads from there to work.

Multi-pitch CVVC banks do not work properly with the shareware A for automatic button!! Any articles where I complain about CVVC banks being broken is my own fault for not figuring it out sooner!!

Wiki Wednesday #216 - Aoi Homura

Still utterly frustrated with the format of the Fandom pages being changed. The only reason I figured she was a woman before opening her readme was the fact that she / her pronouns were used. (Note: her character sheet included in the gallery includes the information from her readme, but I didn't realize the text was there until I clicked on it to get an icon for this article.) I get "look at her, she is obvs female presenting," but it's nice to know for a fact that I'm using the right gender. Also, would the creator have come up with a Japanese name if there was a blank to fill out that said Japanese name?

Wiki Wednesday #216 - Aoi Homura

I complained a lot before the header even showed up, but yeah. Her ears are wings and she is a tsundere who likes reading. Her design is really pretty.

Note: I literally know nothing about Gummy-P / Stormbullets aside from the fact that their Twitter account has been suspended. They might be out here doing evil things, but they could be a good person who got hacked. I really don't know because all I can see is a suspended Twitter account.

Who is Homura Aoi?

.

Again, I'm the fictional Ouura.

George and I never walked into a room without contingency plans for our contingency plans… but he was different at that moment.

We hadn't really talked about my first meeting with his parents. He always shut down with the most terrified look on his face.

He had a nervous tic. He rolled his finger over the click box in the same exact way, saying "going up? Going up? Going up?"

When the door opened, I expected him to change in some way. Instead, his eyes stayed wide and glossy. The person who opened the door was some kind of maid. She looked at me and just stared.

I was wearing a mask, but that didn't change my eyes, my skin, or my height. My hair was half pulled up and specifically cut to frame my face. Perhaps that brought more focus to the parts of me that weren't 'human' enough.

The maid laughed and cursed. It was so hilarious to her, apparently. She ushered us in, but George was too nervous to move as he kept clicking "going up?"

I really looked at him. He was more pale than he had ever been. I gently grabbed his arm and led him into the house.

It wasn't meant to be meal time - one of the few conversations we were able to have was George clicking "mask… going up? Need to wear mask… going up?"

But, his parents were sitting at their dining room table with food covering the table. George awkwardly stood behind his chair as I sank down into mine.

"What's wrong with her? Does she have coal in her head?" His mother hissed at me.

"Georgia!" Her husband chided her.

She laughed. "The idiot can't speak English!"

"Nope, I can't speak English George!" I clicked as I looked up at him. "I'm a big girl. Let them insult me."

George broke his trance long enough to sit down.

There was meaningless smalltalk as his parents picked at the spread on the table. George responded with sounds instead of words. "Uh huh… uh… naw…"

"Why isn't she eating?" His mother hissed at me again. She was staring into my eyes even though she was addressing him. Was this a test? Was she trying to see if I understood her?

George finally said his first full sentence. "She has a stomach bug. She might throw up if she eats."

His father rolled his eyes. "It's because she's an alien, right?"

I held back a laugh. Laughing was the wrong move. I know that it looked like I was wincing from the pain of being accused of being an alien. What did that even mean?! They were a founder species! This wasn't their species's home planet!

His parents missed my understanding as they berated George. His "going up? Going up?" became faster and more forceful. I put my hand on his, hoping that it would stop the clicking. It didn't, so his parents started berating him for the noises. They thought they were coming from me.

How is Homura Aoi's bank?

Aoi has a one pitch, hiragana encoded CV bank. Her voice is meant to be very deep, but when I rendered the tester UST and generated FRQs, the average frequency was B3. I recently learned that I can hit A2.

When you first mash render, this sounds like a joke bank. Like Donka Fjord with nothing but crackles and pops. There is just a lot of silence before the actual recording starts, and that silence is ironically very noisy. You will need to make an oto file to use her.

The voice is muffled in a very nostalgic way and is nice and feminine with the warmth associated with deeper female voices in the 2010s.

Where can I download Homura Aoi?
