Forgotten Friday #342 - 月夜乃菜ノ花 / Tsukuyo no Nanoka

 I have no idea where the spaces should go. The no is katakana. If you change it to hiragana and translated it using something like bing translate... Don't. The nicest way to put it is that her name means the moonlit canola flower, but that's not accurate because canola isn't the name of the plant.

I think Nanoka is a ghost who appears as a young girl. She is quiet and dislikes loud noises.

"Doctor, I'm going insane!"

The doctor nodded. It wasn't often that he had a toon sitting in his exam room. He leaned forward. "Whacky Bunny, what's made you seek out a human doctor for this matter?"

The brown cartoon rabbit awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. "We don't actually have real doctors. But the studio insurance means I need you to refer me to a therapist."

"Well," the doctor leaned back. "Let's hear the issue."

"There's this human gal..." Whacky Bunny looked around to make sure she wasn't in the room. "Started out silly. You know us toons. We gotta always lead with a joke. So I tried with her and... She upstaged me! I threw a pie at her. She caught it and she ate it way faster than any human could! I try to spray her with seltzer and she somehow drinks it!"

"It's rare." The doctor cleared his throat. "But maybe she's half toon?"

The bunny shook his head. "Even if she was, it's the upstaging. She never gets involved in the screen stuff - she's not jeopardizing my job in any way. But no matter what I do, what she does is funnier. And..." The bunny leaned forward. "She does it in private. When there's only a few people around, max. She isn't doing it for the laughs. She's doing it because that's her. It's driving me crazy!"

The doctor was concerned. "It bothers you that she acts the same as you when no one's watching?"

"That's the thing!" The bunny threw up his arms. "It's all a performance. I don't do it if no one will laugh at it. I haven't pulled off one gag since I walked into this building but..."

"Hey, doctor..." The door peeked open. "Do you mind..."

"Oh, Clara, if it's quick you can come in and I'll sign for it!" The doctor nodded as the door opened.

It was her! It was Clara! Whacky Bunny scooted himself as close to the wall as possible as horror washed across his face. He couldn't believe she was there... Handing the doctor a clipboard.

Clara noticed Whacky Bunny and smiled brightly. "Oh! Do you have any pie for me today? I'd love some seltzer to wash it down." The doctor handed her back the clipboard and she left, closing the door behind her.

The doctor looked up at the bunny. "You're distressed."

"You didn't even laugh!" Whacky Bunny held his head in his hands. "You weren't in on the joke, but a studio audience would be yucking it up at that! How is she even working here when I can't escape her at the studio?!"

"Some people are naturally funny." The doctor shrugged. "She's an on set medic who works for me when the studio doesn't need her."

"Are you saying I'm not naturally funny?" Whacky Bunny was torn between being indignant and wounded.

"As naturally funny as Clara?!" The doctor laughed. "No one is as naturally funny as Clara."
