Wiki Wednesday #114 - 挨拶電気 / Denkine Aisatsu
I'm reminding myself that you need to go to her website to find what the kanji are. I've already tried editing a page, and wiki dot wouldn't let me in. Rude. (update: I edited the kanji into the wiki page on my computer.)
Who is Aisatsu Dekine?
From Official Reference Sheet by Grayslate |
Dekine is a robot specially made to be a bodyguard. She doesn't look like a bodyguard, but there are two kinds of people you need a bodyguard to protect you from. One is a random person looking for a fight. You want a big, burly, bad man in a tight black shirt to stand around you and scare them.
But the other people are people with a vengeance. They're going to get close and take you out. The people who make Dekine? That's who they need protection from. A big, strong man would scare them away. But a stylish young woman? They don't expect her to take them out. Not only do the people who made her stay alive, an attempted assassin gets taken down too.
And those people need it. She was created by two high ranking Yakuza members. She is sent out with family members to make sure they are safe.
She has tan skin and knee length brunette hair. She wears white low rise jeans and traditional Japanese sandals with black socks. Her cream crop top with long sleeves is a play on traditional Japanese kimonos.
Fun fact. Kimono is "wear thing" and literally means things you wear. Meaning… clothes. But as Japanese people started wearing more Western clothes, kimono got changed to mean specifically Japanese clothes.
She has a crowbar with her family name engraved onto it, and that is so cool!
She has no emotions. She wasn't programmed with them. However, she does suffer from data overload when she goes outside during the day and hears the sounds of society. Her CPU feeling as though it is about to fry is uncomfortable and she will act as if she is annoyed, even though she is incapable of that emotion.
She can understand emotions and respond accordingly. She is kind to everyone who is kind to her. But it doesn't matter if they aren't kind to her, because she is incapable of caring.
As much as I like the character, I have to say "boo!" about one thing. A robot that had never left Japan while living with Japanese people wouldn't know what country or rap music would even sound like! So why is it in her dislikes?! Also, "Mercy" by Kanye West is one of the best songs on Earth, and Dolly Parton would like to have a word. (She would be kind and loving and understand that everyone has different tastes… but still? How you going to dump on Dolly!) And the explosion of Pop music inspired by Nashville! You can't tell me that Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons" isn't perfection.
Though her most useful function is as a bodyguard, she was primarily created for entertainment. She cooks and makes art for the family. She sings and makes tea. She's a completely wonderful addition to her family, and they are deeply grateful for her presence.
How is Dekine Aisatsu's bank?
Dekine only has one bank, her Act 1 CV. Her OTOs are the kind of bad that break the bank without crashing resampler. You remember overlap and preutterance with "Green light go, red light stop." The first line is the green light telling you to go further, and the red light tells you to stop. Everything I've checked was "red light, green light". No matter what you do with "red light, green light", it goes poorly. Overlap doesn't do anything, because you can't overlap anything if the note has already started. So, only preutterance does anything, but it starts the note with the consonant, and not the vowel when placed where overlap is meant to go.
Weird detail, but her け sounds like it was recorded with the Mandarin "e".
Once the OTOs are fixed, it's a really nice CV bank. Nice accent, decent mic. Nice UTAU all around.
Where can I download Aisatsu Dekine?
You can download her from her official site. She's a nice UTAU!
