 I just took a one month break, but life has been going so fast, it feels like I've been missing for a decade.

Forgotten Friday #208 - ケーナン / Keenan

Alright. Let me ask, why do you come here? Is it for the characters. or is it for the voices? For me, I really only care about the UTAU libraries as instruments at this point. However, I previously was in it for the characters and not the usefulness as an instrument. All that said to introduce Keenan / Keinan / Kenan.

Keenan is a quena, which is a flute from Latin America. That's why his design is inspired by Latin America!

The queen huffed as she began to launch into some fantasy backdrop. The woman with red sneakers turned to the girl who had been signing. Once the woman had gotten her attention, she awkwardly introduced herself by finger spelling her name. "Becky."

The girl responded with "Vanessa."

Becky smiled. She signed back, "what's your bet? Dream or video game?"

Vanessa laughed, but no sound came out. "If I checked, I would taste blood."

Becky blinked as she tried to figure it out.

"Idiom." Vanessa spelled out before explaining in ASL, "Bite your tongue to prove you're dreaming."

"So you think this is real?" Becky had just finished signing when the Queen cut her off with her booming voice.

"Rebecca, why do you flap your hands like the simple child?"

Vanessa began signing extremely vulgar insults as Becky blankly stared at the queen. The queen puffed her chest before asking the men if they understood their mission. They all gave some kind of salute before turning to leave.

Becky and Vanessa followed, though they were walking slowly compared to the men in front of them.

They trudged along in near silence until a pulling and undulating force pushed Becky and Vanessa forward. They both fell to their knees, trying to understand what just happened. The men in front of them simply looked back in confusion. Becky slowly stood and stared forward in confusion. The mountains that were distant in the horizon were much closer. She turned around and saw that the castle that they had just come from was far enough away that she couldn't see it.

"Did you…" Becky gasped. "Why aren't you freaking out?!"

The elf samurai was holding split logs for a campfire while the archer was working on setting up tinder. 

"The sun sets nightly." The Viking chided her. "We will have light. Do you fear the moon?"

She looked up at the sky. The sunset was stunning, but they had left around noon. They had been walking for hours?! She looked to Vanessa and asked out loud, "Did it feel like we were walking hours to you?!"

Vanessa shook her head. She signed, "I guess that's quick travel."

"Why didn't they feel it, though?!" Becky was too confused to switch to sign, which meant that the men also heard her.

The archer laughed. "Well ladies, that explains why you were so gosh darn quiet! You got so bored, you forgot our entire trek out here!" Becky liked the archer. He seemed nice.

"What usefulness can you display in this scenario?" The elf balked. "You walked silently and ignored our planning."

Becky looked over at Vanessa. Vanessa was, again, signing vulgar insults. Becky turned to the elf and shrugged. "I didn't pay attention to the lady at the castle. I don't know what's happening."

The archer laughed. "Well, ladies, it's not too hard to understand! We need to save the kingdom! We don't know what we need to do or where we need to do it, but it's definitely something that we can do!"

"Yes," the elf groaned. "We were told to go past the mountains. We may need to fight majestic beasts and prove our wits against valiant foes. But the queen believes we will prevail."

Or should I have written it as Quenan? Anyway, he is a flute. It is a very pretty flute. You must convert the lyrics to only vowels to use him.
