I wonder how fast I can get through all of these!
Wiki Wednesday #317 - KANI_FF64EE
In the future, there was an ill-tempered help bot AI. She made into a idol was sent back in time to defeat a certain teal haired hero... If only she hadn't been two decades late!
Who Is KANI_FF64EE?

This is tangentially Diffsinger related! Alright, so I couldn't make USTs. At first it was because I didn't understand... Well, I didn't actually understand much of anything. Once I learned the theory, I ran into a pretty huge problem. I can't process pitch the same way as everyone else. The same way that I can't understand numbers the ways other people can. I was super jealous of everyone who wasn't disabled the way I was... So I worked and I worked and fifteen years later I still can't understand pitch well enough to transcribe anything by ear.
But AI vocal removal has gotten to an insanely good point and I have Praat and the wonderful scripts I got from Hataori-P. I can make USTs! I can make really well tuned USTs that sound great!!
So why did I stop doing that?
Let me start by being honest: Diffsinger isn't as good at this moment as Synth V. Heck, half of Synth V isn't as good as Synth V. Posting AI covers that are obviously not people shouldn't trigger any issues... But I'm paranoid. I've seen a lot of people get copyright strikes on Synth V covers. Not a claim, but a 'three of these and your channel is deleted' strike. This doesn't apply to UTAU, but I'm a Diffsinger girl now!
When you look into what's on YouTube with no issue compared to the striken videos, it's easy. It's okay to post the song. It's okay to post the song with an AI vocal that sounds fake. It's not okay to post the song with an AI vocal that sounds real. This doesn't affect me right now, right? It might someday! Maybe someone from the record company could get mad and decide that Diffsinger sounds like people! I don't want to risk losing my channel, so I decided naw. I'm just not going to risk it.
After all of that... I made an English USTx for a song and I had fun! It sounded great! I have a spare channel that I don't care about...
And then I remembered how much I dislike making videos for covers! It's not fun and I'm rushing through the whole process. I've really optimized the process and can do it kinda quickly, but it's not fun.
I technically never stopped making USTs. I'll randomly throw together stuff for this blog, I've made USTs the traditional way for original songs (that ChatGPT helped with), and I even threw together the aforementioned USTx. I just have no intention of making a YouTube video to release any of those.
Looking at the view counts on my cover videos, I'm pretty confident that no one is really missing out by me not making USTs publicly available!
The real reason I'm not releasing USTs isn't really that I'm afraid of record labels - it's that I'm just too lazy to bother with all of that vocal synth user stuff! Maybe I could convince someone else to release the USTs for me...
How is KANI_FF64EE's bank?
While it looks like much is planned for Kani, she only has one three pitch CV bank at the time of writing. She seems to have no prefix map and the pitches aren't labeled with note names - just up and down arrows. I set high to start at G4. Low can start at A#3!
Her voice is sweet and lovely!
Where Can I download KANI_FF64EE?
You can find her on her official site! She's super cool.
Great find, KANI has a soothing voice!
ReplyDeleteI made a UST hosting site a while ago for anyone to use (but I haven't posted any USTs I've made on it because they aren't that good). It can be seen here if you'd like to use it to host your USTX files: https://sites.google.com/view/utahaven/home?authuser=1
