Is mango the best fruit?
I never really likes mango. I just didn't. I was indifferent when it was in my mixed fruit cups. Sometimes when I got mango sticky rice from a Thai place for dessert, the mango was pretty good. But other times, it just tasted like metal and I was wondering why I didn't just get the coconut sticky rice by itself.
It wasn't until I started eating frozen fruit that I had mango that made me realize that good mango definitely is the best fruit. And then I'd get a bag of frozen mango that made it clear that mango wasn't even that great of a fruit.
A lot of it has to do with where the mango is grown and how fresh it is. I have no control over where the processing plant gets the mangos from. Getting fresh ones wouldn't really help the issue because everyone says Latin American mangos are the bad ones. As you may have surmised, it would be much more likely for me to get my hands on a Latin mango than an Asian one.
But let me tell you about the good frozen mango.
That stuff is the texture of high quality gelato. It's smooth and creamy and has the most beautiful taste. I want to call the flavor soft because it's like a gentle tropical hug, but the flavor is strong and nearly punches you in the face with how good it is.
And now I'll tell you about bad frozen mango.
It has the texture of wood and it tastes like wood.
I have this problem with all fruits. I have autism. But somehow, mango is the one I'm most nonchalant about. I'll just keep eating frozen mango and hope I'll get a good bag next time. It's okay. If I get a gross bag of frozen cherries or bananas, I just let those bags hang out in the freezer until I have no other choices. I'll just eat all of the mango because it's fine. It's mango.
If you're willing to gamble, then I think it's worth trying mango even if you're in a place where it's impossible to get the good stuff. It's very, very delicious!
On a nice note, I'm actually halfway done with this very silly and unnecessary project after just one night! My memory is messed up so I had no idea why I had done literally nothing since I had woken up. I had been writing! Once I finish up this part, I will have written seven thousand words in one night. I honestly don't know if that's impressive or not. But seven thousand words a day would knock NaNoWriMo out in just over a week!
I meant to do it this year, but I just couldn't get myself to start writing. I even wrote out a whole outline so that I knew what was going to happen! But I just couldn't bring myself to start writing a whole story.
