Well hey there!
So… why am I buying another cheap Chinese tablet? It's not necessarily a money thing. Because we live in 2025, you can sign up for installment plans for basically anything. As long as I'm on disability, I'll never be able to save money. So my thought was that I'd never be able to buy anything fancy or expensive again. I can through financing!
If it's not for an inability to pay for it… then why?
Batteries. Batteries aren't great. With a laptop, you can replace the batteries. While technically you can replace the batteries on phones, it really just is easier to get a new phone. My current tablet is impossible to repair as far as I know. There's literally no visible screws. I doubt a Microsoft Surface would be any more repairable.
I have all of this blog set until a long time from now, but I need to test my new tablet when I get it! I have another year of Forgotten Friday stories written down, but getting into that would be a whole thing that would inspire me to drop everything to spend two weeks obsessing over getting the blog squared away. I'm actually writing this in Google Docs instead of my novel app because it's just that much of a “I want to do this as a test.”
The batteries weren't the first thing to go on my first tablet. It was, in rapid succession, the Bluetooth and the USB port. It's still usable, just really annoying. But it was cheap and I got way more than my money's worth from it in the time that I've had it.
It would be cool for tablets to be repairable. But at the same time... The new tablet is going to be super cool if it works out well. It's got a twelve inch screen and comes with a stylus pen with pressure levels! The only thing I'm iffy on is a lack of an SD card reader, but the hard drive on the thing has more space than the SD card I currently use... And you're not actually supposed to use those as external hard drives due to the risk of corruption.
So yeah. I know that anything with batteries has to have the batteries replaced eventually. If you can't replace the batteries then you just have a brick. If I can get a half decent experience for two years and then get a new one, that's way better then having a great experience for two years and then forcing myself to use a tablet that's breaking down because it was expensive.
Besides... Because it's cheap, if I hate it I can get a different one without worrying about needing to get a refund. Like I said, I can just try again and find a new one. Definitely can't do that if you finance a Microsoft Surface. I'd be stuck paying it off!
That's much less fun than living a YOLO life. On the edge!
How is Chaser Aoi's bank?
While it was planned for Chaser to have a three pitch VCV, only a single one pitch VCV was released.
You are going to see a lot more edited oto files from here on out now that I have a stylus pen. It was pain editing Otos on my old tablet!
Chaser has a lovely and kind nostalgic voice.
Where Can I download Aoi Chaser?
