Wiki Wednesday #270 - Koko Haga / 羽賀ココ
Koko is a twelve year old girl. It seems that her group has been dissolved, but her bank remains online.

I watch a lot of television. Before I got good Internet I had a really horrible data cap. I didn't realize I could watch YouTube whenever I wanted at 144p so I needed television to watch almost anything.
One of my toxic traits is that I like copaganda way more than I should. Currently, my favorite copaganda is The Rookie. If season one premiered today... Trash. Garage. I would have gotten through like two episodes and deleted the timer. But this was before I had unlimited YouTube. I powered through and now it's a show I really like.
So... I pretend season one never happened.
So the main character is an old man named John Nolan. Not old-old, just old enough for the premise of "old man joins the LAPD" to not seem silly. He's like a dad now. But in season one?? He was banging a young lady! And you know the writers regret it because Lucy, the young lady, has never mentioned her and John ever being a thing.
It is really horrible that bad things happened on the set that would push an actress to quit the show... But the actress who left was dealing with a horrible storyline. She was black and wanted to be a detective. But she had a family member who did crime. Oh no! That family member doing crime would interfere with her being a detective!
She was replaced with another black actress who actually had a really good storyline. She was a detective already but needed a demotion to have more time for her family. And then she ends up being a detective again and being overall awesome as a character.
The funny thing is that the show is so old it's already in syndication. A lot of people are going to see the first season and just give up because the first season just isn't even the same show as the most recent seasons.
The show, being copaganda in the era when Brooklyn 99 got cancelled for being copaganda, had some really, really rough seasons trying to prove that some cops are bad but our favorite cops are good. But those were at least not season one. I barely remember them other than the storyline where one actor had himself written off because he couldn't handle playing a police officer anymore. It was rough and not very fun to watch, but I very vividly remember how mad season one made me.
So if you want to watch copaganda, I would recommend The Rookie as long as you skip the first season.
They did have a spin off that lasted one season. I didn't even finish it because my TV can record only two shows at once and there were two other shows I cared about more on at the same time. But it's weird. Most of the main cast had either appeared on the Rookie or were at least mentioned after the cancellation. But not the main character. Where is Desna?!
