I don’t really have much to talk about, but I did get a new computer recently. Well, during May of 2025. I have had a wireless keyboard and trackpad for a long while by now, but the old computer I put on the living room TV was really slow. Like it glitched out pretty badly, it took like half a minute for the cursor to go from one side of the screen to the other. And it’s not like the thing was old or that I had worn it out. It was old (like pre-COVID old) and the no fan thing probably melted some stuff… But out of the box it was pretty darn slow.

It was so old, actually, that it didn’t even ask me to upgrade to Windows 11 because it literally couldn’t do it. (Though that may have been more so being cheap than being old.)

I actually didn’t just get it as a cute little streaming box (though it was very cute), I got it because my computer was on death’s door and I needed to work on my blog. And… It was not very great for that! I thought this keyboard was awful and I couldn’t type worth a darn on it, but I’m typing quite well now! I guess it was just the intense input lag that made me think I really was better at typing on my phone. I did a few tests and I have a speed of fifty words per minute. I think the last time I did a test on this keyboard, I got thirty words per minute. The only real detriment to this keyboard is the shift key. It is only half of the width it should be because it shares real estate with the up arrow. It took me a bit to realize that when I was trying to use it before. I tried to make something uppercase…. But it put the cursor somewhere else entirely! Isn’t that a hoot?

Anyway, I have a lot more ability to type quickly now. And writing on Google Docs on a PC means that you can see the word count as you are typing! Anyway, I feel as though it’s a very good idea for me to buckle down and start typing a bunch more because It’s almost June! And I really want to make sure that my blog has as many articles scheduled out as possible!
