No fancy formatting, just a notice.
Getuploader was a very popular Japanese filesharing site. If you downloaded the iroiro2 plugin for UTAU, then you've most likely used the website.
I actually was shocked every time a getuploader link worked because I always confused it with loda, which we lost long ago.
I don't back up any UTAUs and I do not distribute anything without explicit permission. I am not going to be part of the push to preserve any data...
But I figure that I have at least a few readers who would be part of that effort if they were told about it.
I know that an uploader being taken down always means that important things will be lost, but hopefully this advanced notice means that as little will be lost as possible.
This is so sad, truly. So many highly skilled creators won't be archiving their projects just because they're no longer online, which indicates an absurd amount of loss. This hurts me so much, like, really a lot. I wish I could help somehow.
ReplyDeleteIf you are able, make sure to download as much of the stuff you care about as possible! Even if you follow the rules and do not distribute anything without permission, you will still be making sure that the things you care about still exist, even if only privately :)
