Forgotten Friday #28 - Yasu / ヤス
Again, I'm talking about an UTAU that doesn't fully fall into this category, but for a good reason. Finding out that this UTAU didn't fall into this category exactly took way more research than most people would be willing to do.
There is basically no information on this UTAU floating around, so I'll re-appropriate the "Who is this UTAU" with "Look at this research I did!" (Though I'll keep the title the same, because I'm like Jazza over here with consistency.)
Who is Yasu?

Yasu has no Wikia page. Not even kidding. The only download link I found for Yasu was on a Nico video. That link was to 4Shared, and I saw there were other files in the shared folder. So I clicked through and found Yasu's owner's YouTube name and dA name.
That's when I found out that Yasu was investigation material, as there are multiple UTAUs by that one user. However, the amount of research that took was enough to just say "darn it, I'm going with Forgotten Friday."
There is no readme file or image packaged with the bank, and I couldn't find a download link on Melon's YouTube channel when searching this UTAU's name. I also found Melon's blog, but again, I didn't see any links. Thankfully, at least I found out that Yasu uses she/her pronouns thanks to video descriptions.
This is a case study in why mononymous UTAUs are a bad idea. Because looking up this UTAU in specific would give me results for a ton of other UTAUs, I wouldn't have been able to know anything about this UTAU without that 4Shared link giving me access to the entire shared folder.
Regardless, let's get to analyzing the bank.
How is the bank?
Melon had plans to make more Yasu banks, I think. Maybe she did, but I couldn't find them. As she distributed banks on NicoVideo with only the name Yasu... Well...
The only bank I could find was simply titled "Yasu". No append names, no act numbers, just Yasu.
Yasu has filenames as if she has "proto-VCV" just like the original WHITE bank. However, please spot the issue and cry with me.
The crying is because moresampler is case sensitive. It took me a bit of time, but I was able to copy and paste a "bat" file to convert the uppercase to lowercase.
I mentioned that she had filenames as if she had "proto-VCV". I don't know what's going on. It kind of sounds like she kind of make a little bit of the vowel sound on some of them, but I can't tell if that was struggling with consonants or intentional. I'm confused.
I'll warn you, I barely fixed these OTOs because between using "bat files" and Moresampler thinking that "breathein" was something it needed to make VCV OTOs for, it was a mess. But, I won't deny the voice is pretty good if you put the effort into making it sound nice.
Where can I download this bank?
This was the only link I could find. This bank has problems with consonants being cut off ('she' sounds like 'de', but I can tell from the spectrogram it was probably originally 'she')
If you do the aliases by hand, this bank probably wouldn't be too hard to use as most of my problems were struggling with Moresampler. But, if you want an old plug-and-play bank, Melon's Yasu isn't for you.
I like the voice, but I don't like the effort involved. If you're willing to put in the effort, though, this is a great bank for scratching that 2009 itch.
