Forgotten Friday #55 - 澤音カヨ / Sawane Kayo

I won't make accusations I can't prove, but when I saw the "^u^" I instantly thought "not legendmaker... not legendmaker.. please do not be legendmaker". And I have literally no way of proving if it was legendmaker or not, meaning this could have been legendmaker. "MINRU" uploaded two videos and ran off, with the second one complaining that it didn't get into the rankings. And that's it. No UTAU Visual Archive. No Wikia. Just two videos from someone who neither existed before nor after the videos were released.

Forgotten Friday #55 - 澤音カヨ / Sawane Kayo

As you saw in the preamble, I'm not going to just blame this on someone. I tried to find proof it wasn't who I thought it was. In the ReadMe, I found that the voice provider was listed not as MINRU, but as "ｹﾎｷ・wkaaks1)". I tried Googling in several ways and this was the only thing I found that hinted at that being a real person. Which, you know, is just weird in general.

Anyway.

Kayo is fourteen and likes hunting. He doesn't like cute things or children.

Deer are a real problem, though. I couldn't hurt an animal if my life depended on it. I really just can't with violence. But, I do want something to be done about the deer problem. When you quote statistics on how dangerous they are, everyone points out that those include hitting a deer with your car. Yeah, when you get rid of those stats, it's a lot less shocking. But still, everyone thinks deer are Bambi. They really aren't. They can turn on the attack mode whenever they want. You might think, "Those are bucks. Does aren't any issue!" no. Any deer can turn on attack mode. 

And even if you are completely apathetic to human suffering, deer are just as bad for our ecosystems as climate change. That's not a joke, and you understand why when you realize that they are just little devils who eat what they want, when they want. They drove a subspecies of bears to extinction. Like the car related fatalities stat, it's really just because they ate the bear's food source. But still. Deer vs Bear, you'd never bet on the deer.

The real issue is that hunters aren't doing their part to keep the population thinned. If they drove deer to the brink of extinction every year, they'd get less meat the next year. They want to shoot at fish in a barrel! Though, saying you want a species to be eradicated sounds horrific. We could just reintroduce wolves, but no one wants their cattle eaten by a wolf.

That rant aside, the measurements given for Kayo make him dangerously underweight. 

How is the bank?

Romaji encoded with a half finished OTO. Only what was needed for the release song was finished, and even that was done correctly. 

The voice is well enough. It's got some iffy areas, but when OTO'd well it isn't too bad of an UTAU. It's just, I feel like I know why this UTAU was uploaded and then abandoned. The person making it masqueraded as a Japanese user, but then set the description of the file in English and the samples are romaji encoded. I think they even left comments on the videos hoping people would think it was someone else also. And they didn't keep together the story at all because the voice provider is listed as someone different in the file description and the readme itself!

I actually wish I knew that there was more than one person who was doing this so that so much blame didn't get put on one person. This can't be fully pinned on that person with solid evidence, so I'd want it to be someone else. But this kind of stuff takes a bit of effort to pull together. I've done silly stuff like that, and fighting through uploading nicovideos in 2010 was enough to make me just not.

I think the fact that I went on a rant about deer says everything you need to know about what I think about this bank. Even without knowing about the history of people pulling stuff like this, the story is screwy. Uploaded to Nicovideo with off Japanese, English file description on Japanese file sharing site, forced broken English in the ReadMe with romaji encoded samples, and not a single instance of the UTAU on anything other than those videos and ruto.yu. No YouTube, no deviantArt. Just those two videos. 

It's a free country, and people can do whatever they want and spam all the UTAUs they want. But, it's not like... Ideal.
