Whoops! I'm very, very far behind on my blog. How does time go so fast?!
Wiki Wednesday #165 - Huxley Pittal / ハクスリー ピタル
This bank and character belongs to ghiaccio hours. Huxley is a thirty-one year old man. He is quiet, but he also loves to hang out and party with friends. He always wears a coat because he is always cold. He loves to help others.
The shading style in his official art is really cool.
Who is Huxley Pittal?

"Supposedly" fictional Chia here.
The Union sucks. They reject as many people as possible because, guess what, money still exists.
I've watched some human shows that handwave scarcity with matter replicators or whatever. That's not how the world works. So, money has value. If money doesn't have value to a culture, then things you buy with money from another culture does.
One of their tricks is to only accept applications from the childbearing sex. They mean woman, but sometimes it doesn't work the way they expected.
I was in the middle of giving my "give up and go home" introductory speech when the door to the dorm room was thrown open.
I got her permission to say that she was a refrigerator. She was tall, thick, and rectangular. In a deep rumble, she yelled out, "Call me Big Bertha!"
The girls perched on their bunks shrunk back as Bertha sashayed into the room, explaining why she was late. Apparently, as her homeworld was so close, she took a private flight so that her father could see a Union ship with his own eyes. The person doing intake refused to believe that the delicate person was a man, whereas the boulder was a woman.
Bertha had a specific way of speaking. She would say something with so much of her native language's slang that it was unintelligible. Then she would say it again in English with so much profanity that it was unprofessional. Finally, she'd say it so formally it was clinical. It would be a problem if it weren't for the fact that she spoke so quickly, it didn't take much time for her to get to the being understood part.
She was polite and never spoke out of turn. I waited until the introductions were over to pull her aside.
She explained that her species were like kangaroos and seahorses. I didn't understand, so she explained. The detail she went into isn't appropriate to repeat here, but it made my jaw drop. Seriously, it works very differently from most other sapient species.
Women mostly didn't realize when they got pregnant or even notice when they were giving birth because the little babies were so, so tiny. The babies had enough fat stores to survive about a day before feeding and let out ear piercing screams to stop women from accidentally crushing them by sitting down.
Once the babies were born, they were transferred to their father's pouch. On the men's stomachs was a marsupial pouch that housed the babies and let them feed. She explained how men were extremely maternal on her planet. Seeing a cute baby could induce lactation in a man at a moment's notice.
She knew that the Union wanted frail and weak girls who would break and save the Union from expending resources on fairly "useless" planets. However, they had to be smart and not say that directly. Instead, they just demanded recruits produce the egg and incubate it themselves. (The Union dislikes anything that does not give live birth.)
She explained that her planet didn't need the Union. She didn't even really want to serve. She just wanted to make some stuffy old men uncomfortable.
Even though she only signed up out of spite, she became extremely valuable. She mostly works as a mechanic, but she also gets called upon to be a bodyguard.
There's an entire unit made entirely of her people now. They are ruthless warriors used to intimidate enemies. All because one profane woman wanted to aggravate old men.
How is Huxley Pittal's bank?
Huxley is smol. His bank, when compressed, is 25.2 MB. Unzipped is a more normal just over sixty megabytes, but wow! That's a compact bank!
It is set up to work as either VCV or CV and has an average pitch of F3.
The voice is sweet and muffled, but there are some issues. Some consonants are just like… missing. It would be difficult to make this bank sing clearly, but the voice is still very nice! (Though, the recording list feels strange!)
Where can I download Huxley Pittal?
You can download him from his utau wiki page! He is a very sweet utau.
