Axfc is a jerk. Here's my post on how to get downloads from there to work.

Multi-pitch CVVC banks do not work properly with the shareware A for automatic button!! Any articles where I complain about CVVC banks being broken is my own fault for not figuring it out sooner!!

Wiki Wednesday #202 - Alev Katil

This one will actually be guest authored by Franz Feldman.

Wiki Wednesday #202 - Alev Katil

After the last article, Mae made sure that overlookedcosplayer was no longer active in the fandom. Their blog was abandoned, and their videos were privated. So, I can happily press a few buttons without any understanding of what is happening!

Alev means flame and Katil means killer. I don't know what language that is in. Alev is a tall nineteen year old woman who loves having fun and standing out. The art used for her is pretty darn cool!

Who is Alev Katil?

"Supposedly" fictional Chia here.

I was a little surprised but very relieved when The Shark picked up the phone immediately. He asked me what was wrong.

I sighed. I asked him if he remembered our debate over the Union absorbing a possible enemy. He did remember, of course.

I explained that I just needed advice - or maybe just to complain. He chuckled. I told him about Lorch. A young man who wanted nothing more to be a Union worker… only, he would have been rejected immediately for not speaking English.

Neither The Shark nor I could fully understand what Lorch was feeling. We had both had our native language taken away from us. He never spoke his in the refugee camp, and I physically could no longer speak mine. We had started learning English at a young age, but Lorch didn't have that luxury.

The Shark started to speak but paused. He asked me if I realized how strange it was that someone who wouldn't be allowed into The Union as a worker was being put through 'training'. I asked him if he could check the BBS for captains. He avoided it because of the racism and xenophobia, but it quickly logged in. His voice hitched as he read the title of a post to me. "In regards to our burdensome adopted children."

He softly gasped and sighed as he read through the comments. He abruptly told me not to worry. I heard his computer shut down before he explained. No one wants them to be part of the Union, they just didn't want to possibly fight a war. We would have won it easily, but avoiding conflict is easier.

I asked what that meant for the men I was tasked with training. He sighed. He warned me that I wasn't meant to know, but that he respected me enough to know I'd stay quiet. Any current members of their military were to be confined to their own ships. They would be tasked with guarding the borders. I asked for clarification. He meant the borders of our known inhabited universe. I sucked my teeth. It isn't as horrific as it sounds - there is life outside of that boundary. It's just that we can't reach it or detect it. Earth isn't even part of that designation as we can only go to a time shifted version through portals. We have no idea where it actually is in our own time beyond it being far outside of our ability to detect anything. (Though, there's a chance that it has already been consumed by a dying sun.)

I asked him about new recruits. He told me it was the same as everyone else. Fit the unrealistic standards of the Union or be fully rejected.

I asked if I could tell the trainees the truth. They could go home or float through the seemingly endless void of space on the extremely unlikely case that a galaxy far, far outside of our knowledge gained the ability to find us. He asked me what I would want to be told.

I thought about it. I asked if there was any mention at all of Union services being deployed on their home world. I heard his computer boot back up as he went silent.

"They'll get the same level of support as Madia Luna if they are willing to ask for it."

I sighed. These were men from a militaristic culture. Abandoning their post would bring only shame and jeopardize their home world's quality of living. I thanked The Shark. We forced a bit of small talk to take our minds off of the injustice before awkwardly signing off and hanging up.

How is Alev Katil's bank?

Alright - I'm going to try and do this with as little help as possible. And... Mae told me it's broken. I knew it looked wrong when I checked it for her, but it definitely was broken. She had no idea how to fix it either. It was really, really broken.

Well, I watched Mae move around all of those lines. The voice sounds pretty nice! It has a nice tone and doesn't sound too "fuzzy". The tone is youthful and rather feminine, Mae says I should mention that there are issues with consonants that she hadn't thought about in years, but she won't elaborate.

Where can I download Alev Katil?

Her download link is on her UTAU Fandom page. You will need to delete the file that configures her, but she might be worth it to you!
