Who Is Kazune Kana?

Seraphim hummed as she sat on her bed. Miss Constance didn't do much teaching, but there was one thing she was adamant about learning: cursive.
Seraphim did love the feeling of using a large feather pen to copy each of the words over and over. She didn't know what they meant, but she liked the way they looked. She paused when she heard something on the floor next to her bed. She pushed her lap desk to the side as she looked around.
"Hiya, McKenzie!"
Seraphim grabbed the ink pot as she flinched. (No matter how surprised she was, Miss Constance would be very upset if the sheets were stained.) She looked towards the source of the noise and saw a little creature using her sheets to climb up the side of her bed.
The creature sat down across from her. He was a small and thin little thing wearing a red outfit with red slippers with pointed toes. As he smiled brightly enough to hurt his cheeks, he cursed the fact that he had settled on the idea of house elves looking like Elf on the Shelf. But now, he was stuck with it.
"Mister..." McKenzie's eyes were wide as she pulled her free hand up to cover her mouth. "Mr. Elf?!"
"Darn tootin'!" Mr. Elf tried his best not to cringe. He understood the principle behind 'smaller body, higher voice', but he wasn't expecting to sound nearly as shrill as he did in that form.
"Why did you call me McKenzie? No self respecting witch is named McKenzie." She pouted. She was the most self respecting witch who ever lived with Miss Constance. She studied the most cursive and always kept her robes the most clean.
"Oh, no!" Mr. Elf put his hands on his cheeks. "A self respecting witch can have any name! I like McKenzie."
Seraphim gave a harrumph.
"After all those times you tried to catch me," Mr. Elf pouted, "I thought you'd be more happy to meet me!"
She furrowed her brow as she thought about it. "I guess I felt upset that you didn't call me a self respecting name, but you're telling me that it is one." She reached out and gently picked Mr. Elf up to study him. He was a lot heavier than he looked, but she could still hold him.
Mr. Elf was wishing that he could be literally anyone else, but he vacantly smiled until Seraphim sat him back down.
"You sure were lonely, McKenzie." Mr. Elf frowned. "I wanted to introduce you to some friends!"
"Friends?" Seraphim's eyes widened. "Like Mable?!"
Mr. Elf shook his head. "Not like Mable right now, but you should know, she is using the very self respecting name Aliyah now! She would be really sad if you called her Mable."
"Huh." Seraphim rested her face on the palm of her hand as she thought. "Would Mable think I shouldn't be Seraphim?"
She was ten, Mr. Elf reminded himself. She would say things like that at times.
