Who Is Dia Kotone?

Aliyah never knew what was overstepping and what was being a good 'Beezus' to McKenzie. She gave McKenzie as much sisterly love as possible, but she never corrected things that she probably should have.
McKenzie did things like put on a witch's hat and practice her cursive with a large feather pen. Younger students used pencils, while the older students graduated to using pens. (It wasn't mandatory to switch and some students still used pencils up until graduation.)
Aliyah had no clothes that could fit McKenzie, and just handing her a pencil felt like it wouldn't help much when McKenzie was so accustomed to the archaic pens. Aliyah didn't want to set McKenzie up for failure, but she didn't know what to do. She was fully banking on the rich girls who would live in the same building to use their money on the cute little girl wearing silly robes. Sadly, the first years always came a week or two before the rest of the students who didn't live on campus year-round.
The day came for first year orientation, and Aliyah was nervous. As she brushed her teeth in the bathroom, there was a knock on the door. She spat out her toothpaste and hurried to answer the door.
"Didn't want to put too much on you..." Charlotte nervously laughed as she craned her neck to try and see if McKenzie was still sleeping. "I thought I'd be the one to take her to her first class."
"Really." Aliyah glanced behind her and sighed. "How long does she have until she has to go? I do my best to get her to shower and brush her teeth, but she forgets sometimes and thinks she can roll out of her bed in yesterday's robes and go on with her day."
"That sounds harsh." Charlotte had a look of genuine confusion on her face.
Aliyah shrugged. "A tornado couldn't wake her up before she's ready to wake up. She can't hear us."
"Well..." Charlotte took a deep breath. "Thirty minutes. Do you mind if I wait in your room?" When Aliyah nodded and opened the door. Once she was inside, she looked over at the sleeping McKenzie and asked, "How do you wake her up if she can sleep through a tornado?"
"You really don't know how to wake people up?" Aliyah shrugged as she flicked her wrist. She gently placed her glowing hand on McKenzie's shoulder.
McKenzie rubbed at her eyes as she slowly sat up. She looked around the room and yawned. She noticed Charlotte, but she felt too peaceful and content to give it any thought.
"Ken, it's your first day of school. We gotta get your teeth brushed." Aliyah pulled away from McKenzie.
McKenzie nodded and slowly got out of bed to use the bathroom.
"How did you do that?!" Charlotte tried to whisper, but she was too confused to keep her voice down.
"You really don't know how to wake people up?" Aliyah laughed. "What were you doing instead of learning?"
