Axfc is a jerk. Here's my post on how to get downloads from there to work.

Multi-pitch CVVC banks do not work properly with the shareware A for automatic button!! Any articles where I complain about CVVC banks being broken is my own fault for not figuring it out sooner!!

Wiki Wednesday #233 - Kora Meikakune / 明確音コラ

Yay! this is a Japanese only bank, so I don't need to make a new tester.

Wiki Wednesday #233 - Kora Meikakune / 明確音コラ

Kora is a cheerful and stubborn girl who loves space.

Mysterious Pokemon ROM, part two

The game started. The first thing I noticed was that the ROM completely ignored my default settings for displaying Gameboy games. Instead of four different shades of grey or green, it was just black and white. It had changed the brightness of my screen so that the contrast was burning. I quickly fixed the brightness.

There was no intro welcoming me into the world of Pokemon or giving my name. I was simply in Pallet Town... But instead of houses, there were... I couldn't tell what they were meant to be. Ovals sticking out of the ground? The graphics were crude with only two colors to choose from. I walked to one of them and pressed A. There was a sad little sound effect before the textbox started scrolling. 'Mother - beloved.'

Oh! A grave! I tried another one, but they were all programmed with the same message. I shrugged. My brother was a busy man, so he probably would be taking shortcuts.

I made my way into the lab. Upon entering, the screen went black. There were atmospheric noises that the Gameboy couldn't produce (maybe that's why it was a GBA ROM!) as the sprites for the room faded onto the screen in blood red. Now we're talking!

I approached Professor Oak. The screen changed so that a portrait of the professor was on the center of the screen. I let out a small noise of approval. The shades of grey (well, now red) were back. He looked... Well, I didn't know if he looked poorly drawn or not. My brother was never an artist. It was either poorly drawn, or it was harrowing that his face was so... Beaten down. He had bruises and shading that implied he was so thin and sickly, his cheekbones were nearly popping out of his skin.

'Mizzy...' There was a rumbling noise instead of the normal textbox noise. 'What does it mean you survived?'

Lore! I giggled. This has lore!

'It was meant to be... You're quiet now. You watched it all happen...'

The screen went dark. An egg appeared where Oak had been. The text box continued. 'If it's meant to be, it will be. Take it - it's our only hope.'

The screen faded again and I was back outside. I opened the menu and looked at my team. Just one, singular egg. I hummed. I didn't want to run around without the bike for a few minutes to hatch it, but how was I supposed to fight wild Pokemon with no Pokemon? The worst that could happen would be whiting out, right?

I gave myself a quick nod before pressing the up button and dashing into the tall grass.

And... Nothing? I ran through the grass and there were no wild encounters. I ran in circles to try and trigger one, but there was nothing at all. Maybe I just needed to hatch my egg first, and then the encounters would happen.

How is Kora Meikakune's bank?

Kora has a one pitch, romaji encoded VCV called Nebula. The otos use the Moresampler theory of putting the overlap in the wrong place. Since I don't need to make a new tester UST, I'm fixing that.

Kora has an absolutely lovely voice with a soft and reassuring tone.

Where Can I download Kora Meikakune?

The link to download her is on her Wiki page. She is nice!
