I was weighing whether to cover this utau because he a jokeloid and he is a man dressing as a woman. Treating gender identity as a joke is extremely squicky to me... But then I listened to the samples! The VOICE is the joke, not the fact that the dude looks great in drag. A dude who dresses as a lady is cool as long as he isn't mocking dudes who dress like ladies.

It's a Living, part four
It was around 2050 when everyone realized that neurons were the best way of computing data. It was much later, hundreds of years, that scientists learned how to use the neurons of living people. Brains in jars, which were perfected around 2160, were expensive. They gave the best results, but no one wanted to pay for the perfectly climate controlled facilities and expensive nutrient mixes.
Five living humans could be almost as good as one brain in a jar, and those five humans together only cost $250 an hour. I couldn't even guess how much it cost to run one of those brain machines.
We ate normal food. We were only paid for the time we were plugged in. What sealed the deal was the government paying half of our wages just to get the unemployable off the streets.
It was simple. The machine needed as much brain power as possible, so the machines used signals to confuse our brains into shutting down all nonessential functions.
I was calmly following Sarah along as she shimmied and twitched with nervous anticipation. She was mumbling her sales pitch, but I tuned her out. I was going to say yes.
She brought me out of the stairwell and into a bright, white hallway. She led me into a room and gestured at a man lying in the hospital bed.
I have seen many horrific things growing up in the countryside, but I fought back physical nausea.
The man laid there, but he was more machine than man. I looked at Sarah and just pointed. "How long has he been there? He has no muscles."
"Hm." Sarah pulled a clipboard from the door and quickly glanced over it. "Just a few months, I think."
I stared at the pile of tubes and wires. "What happens when it's over?"
She softly laughed. "I'm sorry, I didn't expect you to ask that. Once the time is coming to an end, we make time for physical therapy. He's well fed. His organs are under constant monitoring and we brush his teeth twice a day."
I was taken back to my childhood for a moment. "But bedsores? Bedpans?"
She turned to me. She was concerned. "We make sure that everyone is well taken care of with no lasting impacts."
"Show me a different one that's less depressing." I crossed my arms across my chest.
She nodded and she gave me a brief tour of all of the patients.
"Well..." She awkwardly laughed. "Did I scare you away? I didn't expect you of all people to have this reaction."
"Why is there so much machinery?" I let my arms fall to my sides.
"Oh." She blushed. "You really don't have many friends, huh? Almost everyone gossips about what they think is happening up here. They're usually pretty right, even though the whole point is for people to be completely unaware of this entire floor."
I just blankly stared at her. She usually wasn't this forward.
How is Thylia's bank?
Thylia was created using a text to speech applications using a Microsoft voice. I accidentally went on kind of a journey... Heh... Okay so, your browser just has voices in it. Firefox only had Japanese and English, but Edge has like... Every single language. The issue is that no matter what Chat GPT tried, we couldn't get it to create an audio blob to download. No huge deal, I can record system audio in return for having no character limits. Well, sadly, each place you use these voices has quirks. I had to switch websites while testing Persian because one just... Didn't parse it correctly. On Android, it's just this one person doing all of the voices sounding American!
So Uh, haha it's bonzi buddy but deep!! Okay no lie, I'm actually shocked at how great this sounds.
Where Can I Download Thylia?
You can download him from his wiki page. Don't quote me on this, but I think you're legally safe to use an utau based on Microsoft Mike. Many websites actually monetize the usage of these voices, but the one this utau was made with was totally free with no ads, as was the one Chat GPT made for me. I know it's a touchy subject, but I think this is safe.
