A New Vampire, part 3
She was pretty. The smile on her face made me feel like everything was bound to be okay.
"So," her voice was as comforting as her smile. "I'm sorry that you are now a vampire without your explicit consent. We usually don't do that, but we had no choice if we were going to save your life."
I slowly nodded.
"Do you remember anything at all?" She picked up a piece of paper and a pen. "You were just dropped off - no papers, no documentation... We don't even know your name."
I awkwardly shifted around. "I... Don't either."
The man spoke up. "Can we go with Gal?"
I nodded. "Gal. Easy to remember."
The woman chuckled. "Alright, Gal." She wrote something down then looked back up at me. "I'm Rosie."
I nodded.
Rosie continued. "You have an American accent. That's good. We're packing up to head back to America."
I felt a little flash in my brain. "Yeah." I quickly nodded, "That sounds familiar!" I stopped nodding. "Why am I here?"
Rosie sighed. "We don't know..."
"No, no..." I shook my head. "I understand that you don't know why I was in a war zone - I was asking why I'm now a vampire."
Rosie looked over to the man. "Wilbur, do you want to explain?"
Wilbur grabbed a chair and sat next to me. I turned towards him as he started to explain. "When you got in, the power to the labs had gone down. We couldn't test you for anything, so as a Hail Mary, we put you on antibiotics and intubated you. You were delirious, but able to say 'please don't let me die' over and over again."
"We found out we were going to lose power completely." I glanced back as Rosie shook her head. "The power going out meant no more ventilator for you..."
As she trailed off, I looked towards Wilbur. "I waited until the power went out, and I started the process. I realized you were legally brain dead, but I still tried... And it worked!"
"Yes." I pretended I fully understood what they meant. It was too much all at once. "But why are you here?"
Rosie chuckled. "Oh, we're vampires. We can't die. We all went to nursing school and medical school so that we could be doctors in war zones so that human doctors don't have to risk their lives!"
"Then... Why are you leaving?" I continued to blankly stare at Wilbur.
"Anyone with a brain can get PTSD." He shrugged. "If we give everyone breaks and time to process, it's not so bad."
I lowered my chin. "Why are you all leaving?"
"They're all gone, Gal." There was pain in Rosie's voice as I turned to face her. "War is much worse now. When it seemed like things were turning around... They released the biological weapon. Every single human - gone."
I hugged myself. "That's traumatic."
"Exactly." Rosie sighed. "Exactly."
How is Denpa Tsugiha's bank?
Denpa was meant to have two more appends, but when I checked her voice provider's YouTube page, typing Denpa gave no results, so I think Denpa was scrapped like last week's utau.
Denpa's only bank I could find was her DYE bank. It is a five pitch vcv. She has a very nice and expressive voice.
