McKenzie could hear Aliyah's words, but she couldn't really hear her voice. She felt so strange. Her feet were heavy, like there was something grabbing her ankles and pulling her down. But her head was light, as if it had no weight at all and was floating away. Her right hand was warm, but her left hand felt... Tepid. Not cold, but not exactly normal.

"Growth!"

McKenzie lost herself even further, only hearing one or two words at a time while in her trance. The words became stronger and stronger in her mind as she felt something snaking up her legs. There were two parts of her - the part tied to the magic, and the part tied to her body. The part of her tied to the magic repeated the words Aliyah said in her own voice - you are a woman, you create. She knew in that moment, there were vines growing around her. Though she was scared, that magical part of her forced her to call out, "keep going!"

The magical voice in her head repeated the words - you are a woman, you shine. And then, there was crackling and warmth. She could hear the warbling in Aliyah's voice, but the magical voice was just as strong as ever. You cure, you heal. McKenzie wanted to break out of the trance as she was drenched in water, but she couldn't move. Then finally, the voice said - you are a woman. You rectify all mistakes. There was a roaring and lashing wind that left McKenzie dry as she fell onto her hands and knees into the soaked ashes of the vines that had grown around her.

Aliyah nervously stood next to her. She didn't know what to do. She wasn't a monster that just let her little sister set herself on fire - McKenzie had been commanding her not to stop the entire time.

"What..." McKenzie looked up at the buildings in front of her. She moved her legs out of the way and sat down. She pulled her knees to her chest and hugged her legs. "Why did that work?"

Aliyah sat down across from McKenzie. "I don't know what it means." She looked at the papers and shuffled through them again. "I'm sorry."

"I..." McKenzie looked down at the ashes around her. "I did magic?"

"What was it like?" Aliyah leaned forward.

"It was scary." McKenzie shook her head. "Someone else was in my body, in control. I wanted to cry and stop, but that magical voice wouldn't let me stop."

"Where's the fire?!" Charlotte, holding a fire extinguisher, called out as she ran up to McKenzie and Aliyah.

"Oh..." Aliyah nervously laughed as she looked back at Charlotte. "I got her to do magic, President Penn. That fire was her."

Charlotte groaned. She sat down next to them. "Ms. Azan, we never had any doubt that she could do magic." She paused. "But... How did you do that?"

"I found a sexist book." Aliyah nodded as she didn't explain further.
