 I only have one more part of this pony story after this one. I'm hoping to do NaNoWriMo this year, but not in association with the company... Maybe even I'd do it in October if I'm better. 

Forgotten Friday #312 - Uri Kikenne / 危険音うり

Uri is a woman who appears to be twenty years old, but she's actually undead and thousands of years old.

Lotus was never touchy-feely with Ametrine. In most cases, she resented the Empress for just being her. It wasn't really love for Ametrine that made her act like that when they were reunited - it was the shock of ever seeing her again and her powers finally turning off. 

She felt embarrassed as she woke up and pulled herself away from Ametrine. That was enough to wake Ametrine up. 

"I smell food!" Ametrine was smiling. Lotus suspected that Ametrine had been awake the whole time and was just waiting to pretend to wake up at the same time as Lotus.

Lotus felt bad when she saw Ametrine transfer off of the bed and into her wheelchair.

"Can you believe I've learned how to use stairs with this?" Ametrine was laughing as she made her way out of the room and down to the kitchen. "But I need to warn you." She looked back at Lotus. "I have learned their language."

Lotus was confused. She followed Ametrine down to the kitchen. 

"I didn't know what to make!" Mary awkwardly laughed as she gestured towards the dining room table.

That was gibberish to Lotus. She saw the food, but it looked wrong to her. She looked over at Ametrine, who was happily eating. Lotus awkwardly sat in a chair the way a cat would and nervously started picking at the food. It was good and she was starving, but she couldn't do more than nervously pick at it. 

"Mary," Gem looked back at Mary, speaking gibberish from Lotus's perspective. "Her name translates well! She is Lotus. She was my best friend!"

"That's lovely!" Mary sat down and started eating. "Do you think you could teach her English?"

"Lotus is very smart." Gem nodded. "She can learn anything if she wants to."

"Oh, can she read?" Mary leaned in a bit. 

Gem realized how silly her answer was going to sound after saying that Lotus could learn anything that she wanted to. Surely, if Gem could read and was best friends with a very smart person, the very smart person would be able to read also! 

"No." Gem took a bite of food so that she had a few moments to try and figure out how to finish that thought. 

Mary noticed what Gem was doing and gave her the mercy of changing the subject. "How is your English reading practice going?"

Gem swallowed the bite of food she had taken. "It's going well! It is very different than reading my language, but I'm not sure which is easier."

"That's very interesting indeed!" Mary softly laughed. "You know, John can teach you Chinese if you're interested. It's the same writing system you're used to."

Gem shook her head. "I'm happy with only English for now."

Lotus was used to it. Amatrine would always exclude her from conversations. It at least stung less when it was because she didn't understand the language.
