Avocado is awesome! It's also one of two fruits that is so delicious and packed with nutrients that it is not zero points on WW.

My first exposure to avocado was probably guacamole. We got little cups of guacamole from the grocery store. I loved those things and would just eat them by themselves! Because of that, I never really thought of avocado as a fruit. Guacamole is salty and spicy!

That changed when I was at a Filipino party and someone brought out Magnolia avocado ice cream! I refused to believe I was allergic to milk at the time, so I loved it. The only flavor I liked better was the ube ice cream... But I'm a simple lady who loves the color purple. The color probably had more to do with that than the taste. 

The next time I had avocado as a dessert was a smoothie at a Vietnamese restaurant. There was a lot of bone broth in whatever it was that I ordered and my body was reacting really poorly. (I should have been vegan from a young age, but I loved eating animal products more than I cared about being in pain.) That avocado smoothie was so delicious, I didn't care about the pain I was feeling!

Avocado is definitely delicious. It goes great on everything. In California, Subway was owned by a different company if I remember correctly. The reason this is important is just that Subways in Los Angeles had avocado slices available to be put on your sandwich. Out here, I only remember being able to get guacamole on your sandwich as an extra. As much as I do like guacamole, putting avocados on your sandwich is so much nicer! Guacamole from a fast food place has a tendency to just be kind of weird and watery. You can't mess up and make avocados by themselves weird and watery. Instead, they're just nice and buttery as long as the avocado itself was good to begin with.

Anyway, because avocado isn't zero points, I don't really have any intentions of eating avocados in the near future. Instead of putting guacamole on foods I want to put guacamole on, I can settle for some salsa. Salsa and guacamole are very different things, but it's a decent enough swap! 

Now whenever I think about avocados, I hear the little jingle that was used at the end of commercials for Mexican avocados that played during the daytime television block on the over the air channels in Los Angeles. It was just some guy singing "Avocados from Mexico!" but it was super cute and stuck with me.

Avocado is a very awesome fruit. I'm not sure how available it is anymore. A lot has changed since 2013. I don't really remember much after 2013 lately. It would be sad if the California Subways stopped putting it on sandwiches. Really, it was very awesome! I wonder if I could easily find avocados at the store...
