Trina was jogging in the park when the calls started. She had do not disturb on. She turned off the feature where the calls came through after enough attempts. Her music shouldn't have been interrupted by anything.

She rolled her eyes and finally took her phone out of her pocket. None of the numbers calling were in her contacts!

Her phone rang. She rolled her eyes. She answered the phone without saying anything.

There was a deep and ominous voice on the other end of the call. "How are the children, Trina?"

"What children?" Trina was visibly confused. 

"My children, Trina." The voice became more sinister. "I wouldn't want to find my children in a damaged state."

"Uh-huh." Trina rolled her eyes. "What's my legal name?"

"Katrina, this isn't -"

Trina cut him off. "My legal name is Susan." She was lying. Her legal name was Willow. Trina was just a nickname.

"Well... Then... Susan..." The voice lost the malicious bite. He was confused. "Uh... Who are my kids actually with?"

"Sir," Trina rolled her eyes. "I have no idea who you are and I don't care. If you want to scare me, it's not going to work."

The phone call ended.

"Are you scared now?"

Trina spun towards the voice. It was the man from the call! 

It was a quick scare. He was short and thin. It was pretty impressive that he could make such a rumbling and ominous voice. She then laughed. "We are in eye sight of the playground. It's the middle of the day on a Saturday. One scream and every single one of those moms and nannies will have their phones out recording. So... Don't know how you thought this would work."

"Well, I mean, I literally teleported." He tried to reason. "Isn't that a little scary?"

"You..." Trina tilted her head to the side. She pressed her palm against her forehead. "Wow. Great. Thanks for making me look crazy." She turned and started to walk away. 

"Wait, what?" The man was confused as he hurried to catch up with her. 

"You find the one person within a hundred miles who can see you guys and then you just have to play pretend." She groaned. "Like, what do you gain from scaring me? Is there some kind of fear based energy that you need to survive? Seriously, if you just want attention, tell me I'm the only person who can see you and I'll take you out for a polite, platonic coffee date!"

He stopped. "I really like the idea of a polite and platonic coffee date."

She stopped and turned around. "I know how it works. I keep a magic straw in my purse for these things. So come on. I can cut my jog short and get us some coffee."

"Really?!" He gasped. 

"Your people have been doing this to me since I was a literal infant. I just want you to spread the word... No scare. Only coffee."
