I wrote about apples... But I forgot to mention apple sauce!

In WW, smoothies and juice are not zero points. But apple sauce is explicitly zero points. I don't get it! It's halfway between a juice and a smoothie! But I'm happy. I can drink apple sauce and spend zero points on it.

So I was a weird kid. I didn't like apple sauce. It was nasty. It was way too sweet and people kept putting cinnamon in it. But then... The diet culture kicked in and I got unsweetened apple sauce!! Unsweetened apple sauce is amazing. It's the perfect amount of sweet because apples are really sweet. I swear, I could feel the texture of the corn syrup in the sweetened stuff. 

Apple sauce is amazing. It's part of the BRAT diet. The BRAT diet definitely does not sound like what it actually is. Let's say you have a very bad stomach bug. If you drink water, it leaves your body almost instantly. How do you get hydrated and keep food from instantly trying to dump itself out?! Bananas, rice, apple sauce, and toast. You're not meant to stay on it for longer than your stomach troubles last, but it works well enough that I'm still talking about it nearly three decades after I learned about it!

In some baked goods, apple sauce can replace eggs! There's no universal replacement for eggs sadly. You need to see what the eggs are doing in each recipe to make the right substitution. But when apple sauce is the right choice, it is a miracle! 

My grandma used to make banana bread every year. She gave it out as gifts. I loved that stuff! 

But, as you may be bracing yourself for me to say, she got really freaking sick of making so much banana bread and just stopped one year. 

Okay, that is true, but it was also a way of subverting your expectations. The recipe for the bread was really easy to make vegan. Swap the butter for vegan butter and replace the eggs. My mom and I replaced the eggs with apple sauce and wow!

For the first few days, it was completely indistinguishable from the stuff with eggs. It was absolutely delicious! 

But even being stored the way my grandma always stored it, it was stale to the point of almost being inedible within a week. The following is a joke: eggs must be proof of intelligent design. How else would they fulfill so many roles doing so many things without one universal replacement?! What a pity.

Regardless, apple sauce is really awesome. I love it enough that I try to go as long as I can without opening a new jar because I will want to drink it all at once. I do my best to measure it out and only have two servings at a time. But like... I really would prefer just eating it all at once. That's how good it is!

The act 1... Uh... All of the consonants are gone. They've been edited out and there's no way to make Cinno say words.

Act 2 is the same. I guess this bank is great if you want an Animal Crossing type cover? The voice is very nice, it's just, the consonants don't exist.
