Trina sat down her drink. "Okay, what's your name?"

The man squirmed a bit. "You know how it goes."

Trina didn't exactly know how it went. She didn't start fighting back against the spirits until she was already a teenager. She had only become friends with a few and they were ridiculously cagey about everything at all times.

"Well, I guess you do know that I'm a spirit. Do you see all of us?" He looked nervous.

"Tell me if I'm wrong..." Trina looked towards the road from their outside table. She pointed. "That one..." She pointed at another being. "That one..." She shrugged. "There's like six within eyesight."

"Really?!" Was was dumbfounded. "I only counted one!"

"I see them all, Oscar." She shrugged. "That's your name now, by the way. You're an Oscar."

"It's lonely, Susan." Oscar sighed. "Just because I'm a spirit doesn't mean another spirit can see me. And just because someone's a spirit doesn't mean that they can see me. We're all different types."

"Yeah," Trina groaned. "I was so excited to introduce two of my spirit friends. Neither of them could see the other."

"You're friends with spirits?" Oscar gasped.

"They're in my old hometown and they're not great at texting." She shrugged. "I got them phones they could use, but they were really old and could barely read. No voice to text for them." She paused. "But you can place phone calls?"

Oscar nodded.

"Did you get a special phone?" Trina leaned in. 

"No..." Oscar tried to laugh to seem aloof, but it just made him more awkward. "I don't need to use a phone at all. I guess you'd call me a tech ghost."

"Amazing." Trina picked up her coffee cup and took a sip. "How are you liking the magic straw?"

Oscar shook his head in disbelief. "It's amazing. I can't interact with most things, so I haven't really ever eaten or drank much of anything. It's amazing!"

"Yeah, you pick up these things." Trina sat down her cup and shrugged. "It's crazy. If you go to the right city, there's a channeler on every corner. You can get almost anything enchanted. Then..." She gestured around herself. "I came here to get away from the spirits and have a normal life for once." She saw Oscar's hurt expression. "I'm okay having a few spirit friends in my day to day life! It's just when I can't tell who is who and I look crazy talking to myself in the middle of the road that was the issue!"

"Maybe I should get a shirt that says 'I'm a spirit!'" Oscar awkwardly joked.

"If it was possible? That would be great." She laughed. "Maybe I'll tell people about this place in the support group."

"There's... More of you?" Oscar's eyes were wide. 

"Oh, yeah." Trina nodded. "Plenty of us spend so long just not understanding. Thinking we're crazy with imaginary friends. But it turns out..." Trina shook her head. "We just never found the right people."
