Forgotten Friday #374 - Yume Shizune / 静音夢

Yume is a teenage girl who is quiet but loves having a good time with her friends.

But the bank was corrupted! If couldn't figure this out, this could have been a fully lost UTAU. This wasn't too hard to figure out. but it was tedious. I unzipped the archive on a website and downloaded what I needed for my demo.

She might be difficult to get fully working again. but she is not lost!

Heath and Sunny were panicking just a bit. 

They were sitting across from a tall genderless being that loomed over them. Their black eyes bored into Heath and Sunny. The chairman hissed, "You are not wanted here."

Aruan knew to be quiet... But this was her chance, right? "You don't want me either." Her English was completely understandable. The translator had no problem understanding her and translating her. 

The chairman shook their head. "No. We do not want someone like you representing our people. We have waited for time to erode the covenant of childcare. These people have no legal right to you."

"I want to leave." Aruan was firm. "I do not speak your language. I do not belong here."

"You'd be another Ouura." The chairman glared at Aruan. "She has ruined our image enough. We will never let that happen again."

Sunny looked over at Heath, silently begging him to say something.

Aruan shook her head. "Fine. I will stay here and you will send the Union members home. You aren't part of the Union and you don't want to be. They can do nothing beyond tariffs to punish you unless it rises to the level of war crimes. This imprisonment is not a war crime."

Sunny grabbed Aruan's hand. "I don't want to give up!"

Aruan squeezed Sunny's hand. "You can never say you gave up, Sunny. I was the one who forced you to stop."

Heath started crying. "She's going to have a bad life here!"

"Ew." The chairman was disgusted. They were not exaggerating their response. "You're a man and you cry over... This?"

"Yes!" Heath threw out his hands with his palms facing up. "What life does she have here? She can't speak your language. She can't read your language. The plan was always to take her with us!"

"She will have the life everyone of her social standing deserves." The chairman huffed. "Where she will be unable to besmirch the name of our people."

"What could we do to make you let her go?" Sunny was quiet.

"Make it a war crime." The chairman smirked. "We will never join the Union. You all are defective."

Sunny and Heath sat in a stunned silence. That was when Aruan stood and started yelling. She was throwing out so many explicatives that the translator politely refused to translate. She knew that the chairman couldn't understand her. That was a good thing because she needed to let it all out with no consequences for what she was saying. 

When she had run out of steam and was struggling to catch her breath, two police officers stepped into the room. 

"Hope you don't have anything you care about in your room." The chairman was obviously gloating. "These officers will see you Union scum out."

They all stood. Aruan grabbed them both in a hug. She was careful to not let the acid from her mouth touch them. "I love you."

With that, Heath and Sunny were escorted out. 

How is Yume Shizune's bank?

Look, this is one of those cases where the voice quality is entirely irrelevant. This is a bank from early 2010 whose only uploaded bank is corrupted. The voice is fine - nice even. But it is the story of rescuing an old UTAU that matters.
