Cursed Teletubbies, Part 3

We fell into some kind of rhythm that felt natural. I ripped tapes, and then Booples watched them. As soon as I was done, a new box arrived.

I couldn't get him off my couch, but I was able to get a camera and microphone from the studio so that he could record some videos. It's not like he had some contractual obligation - he owned the company. I just knew that the viewers would prefer a strung out Booples to a polished Greg.

He did look awful, though. I made sure he was showering and eating, so he was clean and he wasn't visibly underfed... But he could barely focus his eyes and was rushing to get back to watching the tapes. To his credit, he read the tablet I held up as a teleprompter like a pro. He had never seen the scripts, but he read them more believably than I did after I had memorized them.

I rushed him though weeks of videos as soon as I finished the scripts on one of my spare laptops so that it didn't interfere with the tape machine on my desktop. I was proud of myself for getting a month's worth of footage to the editors when I got a call. I picked it up.

"Hi, uh... This is Max from VHmax, VHS to the Maximum YouTube channel." The voice was unsure.

"Yeah! Max!" I nodded, even though he couldn't see me.

"I... Kind of think there was a mistake? You're Greg from Booples?" 

"Oh, no!" I laughed, "I am Greg, yeah, but there was no mistake at all."

"You're from the biggest creepypasta channel on YouTube!" Max sounded frustrated. "And I have three thousand subscribers and can't even get enough watch hours to get ad revenue. Why would you reach out to me on purpose?"

"Oh, well," I cleared my throat. "The truth is, we cast an extremely wide net. Despite our subscriber count, you're the first person to respond who hasn't outright said no. Actual productive adults just don't like our channel."

"I've been sitting on that email for two weeks." He was dumbfounded. "And if I'm one of the last options, wow."

"I'm not promising anything, but I need someone who has intimate knowledge of VHS tapes to tell me..." I paused. "Look, can I trust you to not leak anything?"

He laughed. "This is just a weird situation, okay? You have VHS tapes and you need them... Cleaned? Restored?"

"Verified." I tried to sound ominous.

There was a pause. "What does that even mean?"

"Well... You're in Vegas, right? It's like a five hour drive. Could I come over with the tapes and explain?"

He laughed. "Are you serious? Really serious? Yeah, I won't leak anything. And yeah, I have nothing better to do. I'll text you the address?"

"That would be great!" I glanced at the clock. "Is 3 PM good for you?"

"Oh, wow." There was another silence. "You're really serious."

How is Senri Hisa's bank?

When I started this blog, one of my rules was to break up families so that I wouldn't be able to say "this is the same as the last few weeks". Now I'm doing stuff in order and can't avoid that. Senri has one CV bank named after a planet (Mercury) and was said to have a WIP VCV.

Preutterance and overlap are both set to zero for most samples. Her voice is more calm and deep than the other Hisa utaus by Crystal that I've recently covered. I like the voice a lot!
