So I had this idea and I wish I could make it happen. 

There's lessons that I feel like every kid should learn online. Like you gotta get your Club Penguin hacked to learn that you don't give out your password to get a reward for doing a survey. 

There was a Twitter thread about someone who fell for the most ridiculous scam possible. Half of us were thinking - we learned not to fall for that when we were eleven. And other people would have also fallen for it.

But I, like many other millennials, do not want children on the Internet. There are too many weirdos.

So how do you expose a kid to scams and teach them how to exist online without being a menace without access to dangerous people? 

AI. Let's say we make a pet site with some silly games. There's an economy, there's rare items... And ideally it's run locally. No Internet connection to make the parents feel super safe. At this moment, this is not feasible. You would need to be connected to the Internet to talk to the servers hosting the chat bots... But in the future, maybe that could be local. 

So there's a ton of other players who are all robots. The kid can earn points, collect items, all that stuff. But there's scammers! If you get scammed, the game tells you what you did wrong and refuses to give you back your items. There are scammers that simulate giving your computer a virus. (The machine is fine, but your legal guardian needs to send off an email to get the game fixed to a playable state.) And there's also bots that you can scam. Like they ask for an expensive item and you give them a cheap item. They ask you to apologize and then give you a chance to return the item. If you're mean and they catch you saying it was a scam... The game is locked! You need your parent to come and put in the password so that you can play again (after a lecture about not stealing).

And for adults ... Anyone could play it without feeling uncomfortable that they were in a place they weren't supposed to be. You're not interacting with a single human! You can just do whatever you want! Think of all the silly speed runs you could do in that game. 

I mean, technically you don't need AI to do any of that. I just like the idea of being able to actually write out messages and having your behavior politely critiqued by an AI so that when you get on the actual Internet, you're on your best behavior because the AI taught you good behavior. That part would be best fulfilled by a chat bot as opposed to some kind of dialogue tree.
