Forgotten Friday #180 - 白音ミア / Hyakune Mia

 Listen up friends, let me tell ya. This blog does give me some anxiety when it's halfway through May and the articles run out by the end of May. But having the blog and that deadline does help so much with my mental health. It is something I must get out of bed and do, though if my plans go well, I will be able to use UTAU in bed - at which case getting out of bed will be optional.

I wish there was an easy way to depict that a consonant is palatalized. Like, h with a ~ on top of it. Hjaku looks just as strange as Hyaku. And, I don't know how to type the unicode tiny "j". Caku? (the correct IPA representation of "ひ" is actually "Ci".)

Mia is 19 and she loves strawberry daifuku. Which, being completely honest, daifuku is one of the best foods. Though, I will always prefer red bean everything.

 I wonder if I could somehow use something like Bluetooth to type from my phone directly instead of using Google docs… (I downloaded several apps - none of them allowed swipe to type, so it was worse than struggling with the wireless keyboard!)

Okay so, Saku is a boy who looks twelve years old who lives on the moon. His job is to go out on full moons to other stars to learn songs to teach to everyone else on the moon.

I just got so giddy seeing he lived on the moon because of something probably no one remembers. When Cracked was on life support and was barely hanging on to being half decent before they made comments a paid subscription, there was an article titled something like "her father owns the moon." It's nothing but complaining about a fictional woman who has the perfect life because her family is so rich, her father owns the moon.

Why?

I don't know! That's high quality compared to what Cracked is now, so who even knows!

Tsuyuri is a fifteen-year-old voiced by iizumo when iizumo was thirteen apparently! That's a fun fact about youngins setting the age of their UTAUs. Just jumping straight to "is an eighteen-year-old adult" feels too far off, even if the stories you want to write would logically require your UTAU to be eighteen. Not for inappropriate reasons, just because how would a sixteen-year-old live by herself in a new country without going to school? How does the visa process go with that?

My UTAU was sixteen at first because I was fourteen when I made her. When I turned fifteen, I bumped her age up to seventeen as far as I can remember. Two years is just the right amount of close enough to be relatable, but older enough to feel "grown enough" to move to a new country with no visa and no form of guardianship.

Tsuyuri is overly emotional and love bombs everyone she cares about. Isn't that a bad thing? Not to a kid. There's layers of the human experience that don't sink in during youth - constant cakes and gifts sounds like it could have no ulterior purpose. She's written as this being a good and endearing thing, which I totally get.

She also loves sweaters and baking.
