Jasper slowly started to really regain consciousness as Becky gawked at the walls covered in candy. Why was there a candy shop? She tried to find anything that wasn't just unhealthy food, but no. Candy.

"I'm sorry…" Jasper looked like he was about to cry when Becky spun around to face him. "I don't know why, but sometimes…"

"Don't worry, Jasper." Becky softly smiled. "How about you pick out some candy?"

Jasper looked at the walls. He was very, very confused. "What's candy?" When he repeated 'candy', Becky could tell that the word didn't exist in his language. Instead of his usual accent, that one word sounded foreign.

Becky hummed softly as she tried to think of the best explanation. "I'll show you!" She quickly made her way to the counter. The shopkeeper was absentmindedly smiling as Becky asked her for help picking the best candies for Jasper. A few minutes later, Becky was holding a small box of chocolates, gummies, and hard candies.

Jasper nervously stared at the contents of the box. Nothing in the box looked natural. He looked up at Becky and nervously asked, "What… do you want me to do?"

Becky looked down at the box. The world they were in was strange and anachronistic. Other than a few generic hard candies, everything she picked out was things from her childhood that she missed after becoming vegan. She tried to imagine how confusing neon sour gummy worms would be to someone who didn't even know sugar cane existed. She pulled a small square of chocolate out of the box and told Jasper to eat it. He was nervous, but he complied.

"Gee Willikers!" Jasper's eyes were wide like dinner plates. "What was that?!"

"Chocolate!" Becky smiled brightly. "Now, the shopkeeper put this together for us for free, but she's expecting a sale! Try some more, then pick some out for yourself."

Jasper finally smiled. "You don't gotta wait up, Miss Becky. I'll be able to find my way back to the inn when I'm done here!"

Becky watched Jasper run to use counter before turning and making her way back to the inn. She wasn't the biggest fan of parties. The plot relevant time progression meant that the sun was setting, so she figured she should have been tired enough to sleep without triggering a time skip.

At least, that's what she had hoped. For the first time that day, she could feel that there was food in her stomach. She felt herself wretching as she fell forward onto the cold stone floor of her room in the inn. She looked up at the window. It was dark outside. She stayed knelt on the floor for a few moments until she felt a pair of small hands on her shoulders.

"I didn't drink…" Becky mumbled through her heaves. "Time skip."

Vanessa awkwardly patted Becky's head before sitting down on her own bed.

Becky steadied herself enough to stand up for long enough to flop herself onto the bed.
